This is probably a stupid question, but I am pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. I am trying to email an attachment to a potential employer. I have been told that I must add the word "safe" to the file extension so their email exchange does not remove the file. The word is supposed to follow the .docx, so it should be "filename.docx.safe"

I have tried and tried and cannot make it work. Can anyone help me?

Hmm go to the tools section on the menu bar in the folder that you are in. (if you don't see the menu bar hit the alt key, it should show up. I think there should be something like folder options there. Uncheck hide file extensions. Then rename the file. Maybe that should work.

(I'm assuming you're using windows)

If you are having difficulties : right click the file, select properties, change the name to filename.docxsafe
