My mom told me a story about something that scared her about 35 years ago in Boston, Ma & I thought I would share it with you all.

Her and her friends were driving around Boston looking for something to do. As they were driving down to an area they didn't really know, they saw a man walking on the side of the road. He was dressed in crushed velvet clothing with long painted black fingernails and he had his face painted in black and white, half and half sort of like a medieval jester. My mom passed this man and essentially made a comment of whats with that guy?. My mom and her friends decided to get a bite to eat and after driving for several miles, they stopped at a restaurant. The restaurant was pretty crowded and so they were seated at a booth in the back. They ordered their drinks and the waitress brought them. After a couple of minutes, my mom's friends glass levitated off the table and moved about a foot to the right and was set back down on the table. They all freaked out. They were in mid conversation about nothing paranormal when it happened and it scared them. About 5 minutes later, the creepy man with his face painted walked into the restaurant. He immediately came over to my mom's table, ignoring every other table in the place and asked for a ride to the Boston common. My mom thought it was odd because not many people referred to it as the Boston common. She told the man no.. as she was very creeped out by the site of him. Her friend offered to pay for a taxi for him if he would give her a bracelet that he was wearing. The painted up man agreed, and they called him a cab. He went and stood by the door and seemed to be eyeing everyone at the restaurant. A few minutes later, the cab showed up. The man walked over to my mom and her friends and said thank you. He then turned to my mom and said "Oh, you know how your glass floated off the table a moment ago? Well, take a look at this." The man showed my mom his ear. His ear was missing a chunk of it, and in the missing section, an earring was floating, not sustained by anything visible. The man then laughed and walked out of the restaurant. My mom had a very bad feeling from the man and was very scared. He also was not in the restaurant when the drink floated. She was confused at how he could have this knowledge, and how his earring was just floating there like magic. My mom left that area that night and went back to her home town. About a year later, her and my dad decided to go back to that restaurant, on the way home, they saw the same man, dressed the same way... walking down the road. When they saw him, my mom had my dad take an alternate route home. She doesn't like telling this story because she still fills up with fear when thinking of the man.

So I gotta ask, who do you think he was? Ghost? Magician? Does anyone know the significance of his costume? I would like to know if anyone had any similar experiences to this. Keep in mind this was approx. 35 years ago.

Sounds like a ghostly street magician... I mean that's the best possible answer for that one. Well, except for a possible demonic figure. That's also possible. Hmmm, might have to look in to this. Very interesting.

That's pretty interesting indeed! I'm not sure what it could have been, but thanks for the read and i hope you get more information that you need.

Does seem like a man whom may have some influence from a non human entity, like a demon or whatever...

Amazing story that's for sure...

I was driving once on a state highway in Washington state and saw 3 guys wearing heavy hooded robes with tall walking sticks or canes with beards and straggly hair and I saw them when I slowed to a stop sign and I stared at them for second and they stared back at me, then I drove away, but when I looked in my rear view mirror they were totally gone..

Still bugs me today remembering it.. but what can you do...

That is a quite serious encounter! No problems otherwise? Then probably you could just drop it.

But if you want to learn more, you should study up yourself on such encounters and make your own decision about your mom's story.

It could have been just a man. But the odds are somewhat against that conclusion...

I would say something evil or demonic. They feed off of fear and that's exactly what he was doing. Seeing him again a year later walking down the street would creep me out too! I'm glad she and her friends at the time had enough common sense not to give him a ride. Who know what would have happened.

I agree! The funny thing is, one of her friends was kind of a dumb girl and wanted to give him a ride, my mom talked her out of it.

About 20 years ago my husband saw a man, dressed in black crushed velvet, with black fingernails, standing in a telephone booth as they passed by and the man stared at them as they passed, driving a vehicle, in the small town they lived in. It was the 90's, and this outfit was exceptionally "gothic" and "vampire" looking. He and his friends threw it out to just some creepy goth guy. Well a few hours later, they passed by the same telephone booth and the same man was in the booth. It was nighttime now, but the booth was illuminated by streetlamps They drove by the booth slowly and the man grinned at them, an evil grin. The man had vampire fangs. They were terrified and drove off frantically. To this day, he swares that it was a real vampire. The vibe they got off of this guy was pure evil.

Earrings don't pierce Chuck Norris - he pierces them.

the fact they drove several miles, and he shows up 5 mins. later is a red flag. it would take an hour literally to walk a few miles.

who knows, america is f-uped. it's like america is a neutral zone, literally a melting pot, where demons, evil, angels, good and righteousness are all in their own worlds, occasionally crossing passes or in direct conflict.

just go to hollywood or venice beach and you'll see all sorts of weirdness.

If he/it had to ASK to enter the vehicle, he/it may have been a vampire... They can't get "inside" without being invited.

What kind of life had your mom's friend that wanted to let him/it join?...
If you open your door to danger once...

I was in a restaurant a few years ago, and this goth couple comes in... The girl was your basic normal goth ( and cute!
), but her boyfriend? I think he was 9 feet tall!!! When he sat at the table, his knees were an inch or two above the the table top... so after reading your story, I'm glad I only met him, as far as dangerous strangeness goes...

Can you imagine if he/it appeared on America's Got Talent, or something similar?...

That's a pretty creepy story, no doubt. Don't know what to make of it, but it reminds me in a way of a prank we used to pull in high school.

There was this deserted road in town that was rumored to be haunted. We would dress one guy up in a big black hooded robe, and make a puddle of lighter fluid on the ground. When a car passed, the guy in the robe would stand there with his thumb out, like he was trying to hitch a ride. Nobody ever picked him up.

But when the car passed, he would light the puddle of gas and dive in the ditch. I can only imagine what must have gone through people's minds when they saw the flames leap up in their rear-view mirrors, right where the hooded guy had been standing. Thinking back, that probably was not the nicest thing to do...

Interesting story.

If your mother had a bad feeling deep in her gut about this man than it was wise of her to go with that.

Now if the glass clearly actually did levitate off the table in front of multiple people, something was up that isn't considered within our spectrum as "normal" physics wise.

My guess is either a et, window faller (see LKJ's book High Strangeness) or some other kind of non human entity. Or possibly just some weird guy that was a very good magician that got his jollies off of scaring people.?

Anyway, when you meet someone, and your gut instincts tell you to steer clear, best to go with your feelings.

Sad that we can't be more caring and loving but many a good hearted people have been murdered giving a ride to a stranger..............even "normal" looking people.

Out of curiousity, can you get your mom to describe what he looked like more? height, weight, hair and eye color, color of the crushed velvet clothing?

Now his face painted half black and white, maybe he had just watched that Star Trek episode with the two people fighting prejudicism because one had white on his left side and black on his right side and the other guy was vice versa.........www.amazon.com... and the guy got carried away with the program.

The episode was #70 of the original series called, "Let This Be Your Last Battlefield".

Now, read my ATS user name.................I suspect not everyone you meet is from around here.

You mentioned that your mum's friend paid for the taxi in exchange for a bracelet the man was wearing.
Do you know of anything weird happening to her later on?

Beat me to it WeekendWarrior
