Weird Asia News
25-year old Bao Qiaoyang, after having two ultrasounds and being told her baby was perfectly healthy, was shocked to discover that a third ultrasound, performed in early May, revealed that her baby had one body yet two heads.

Nothing extremely ground breaking but check out this next excerpt.

The young woman and her husband, Liao Guojon, decided that an abortion was the best way to go, and went to Suining Central Hospital to have the difficult task performed. Unfortunately, before the procedure could be carried out, Bao went into labor, forcing the baby to be born via C-section. According to the doctor, while a termination could have been performed during the C-section, the procedure would have been too dangerous and could have resulted in the death of the mother.

"Unfortunately, before the procedure could be carried out, Bao went into labor, forcing the baby to be born via C-section."

Unfortunately?

Yuck.

I always thought that abortion could not be performed after 3 months? How sad. Is there any way to detach them? Or no?

This is one of those ethical, moral and humanity based situations. And then we will have the legal and religious issues of abortion.

No one can say for sure but my guess is that in time, these two individuals will wish that they were dead. It will be a difficult life, especially in China.

And then of course, who can say whether or not they will cherish their life and be thankful they are alive.

People will make up their minds and be convinced that their opinions are the only right ones but until anyone is walking in their shoes, they have no right to say anything.

edit on 18-5-2011 by jude11 because: Changed terminology as it was confusing some people.

"Wish they were aborted"...

Do you know anyone who's ever said any such thing? If anything you will hear "I wish I were dead" but not aborted.

I'm pretty sure that people who've suffered in life to the point they can look back and reflect on things, are not going to complain "Wish I had been aborted" as opposed to "Wish I could just die" if things were so bleak they felt this way.

Your post just strikes me as odd..

We always say two heads are better than one right?

So did God decide to create this beautiful little creature, as the gift that a 2 headed baby could only be?

These/This child will not survive, it is a genetic anomoly, sadly.

The parents wanting an abortion were in the position to want it. I highly doubt they were happy to be in the positon, but the OP saying "YucK" really missed the point or issue here, which is much deeper than your simple abortion argument.

I can see where it would seem odd but when they are old enough to understand how close they were to being aborted, that might be their line of thinking. Maybe not.

Many kids say "I wish I was dead" but these 2 may say something like "You should have fought harder for the abortion" Something like that?

Not meant to be strange but trying to see it from their stand point as they will undoubtedly know of the abortion issue.

IMO

Huh? I've heard people say things like " I wished I'd never been born", they may not be using the word "abortion" but basically they are saying that. I know when I went through a very rough time in my life, I DID wish I had been aborted.

I don't any longer, I appreciate my life, and the people who I care about and who care about me.

I hope these babies have a good life either way, and good luck to their caregivers.

Harm None
Peace
