Hypothetical discussion here. You're one of the world leaders, ET's have been in contact and informed you that they want to take away a third of the Worlds population for reasons unknown. If we do not co-operate they will destroy the whole planet. You do not at this stage know what kind of weaponry they have, but you do know they are serious and capable.

You have 1 month before they want to start taking people. What do you do? How do you handle this situation?

Ask them Paper or plastic? Then make sure the third they get are the oldest, ugliest, and dregs of the prisons.

Surprise them with a defence tactic. Build a habitat under water, maybe they're ships or whatever can't operate there? Who knows. Too many variables to give a a realistic decision.

Capture one ASAP ,we need intel and right now.

Accept defining casualties to obtain a pow and glean intel.

I would fight them if they were demanding a percentage of the population.
Because just like bullies if you let them do it once, they'll do it again.

Also, it would be better to die fighting rather than give in to a demand like that.

Id explain the entire situation to the people and let them decide.

If you are a leader you call London Washington,Ottowa,Moscow,China,India,and the Vatican,you have a conference call.

You agree unilaterally to start demonstrations in the streets and you let our enemy believe that there is a division between the religous heretics and the military,you quickly escalate the demonstrations and you widely publicise this in the media so enemy intel is your asset,then you swing the religous angle to make it seem like the pope and other religons want to have their followers sent as the third because they believe they are going to heaven.

You then again escalate to physical violence in the streets and when you have sucked in the enemy into believing we will do all the work for him by the religous nuts loading the ships volutarily,we begin PHASE ONE of our offense.

We bait the enemy with our military into a battle ,the enemy will be cautious of our intent if we initiate so we need to use guile,but based on the fact that they will expect the religous nuts to view their engagement of our military as supportive they will overlook their caution or instinct of a trap,believing that we do not have the capability to put up a fight.They will underestimate humanities resolve.

Phase TWO,we sacrifice two thirds of our military in a frontal attack,drawing the enemy into a battle through which we may gain intel on their tactics and capabilities,we must sacrifice two thirds to force a concerted effort on their part to squeeze intel out of them.

We must make them believe we have used all of our assets,then we spring the trap.

when it is apparent that our military will be defeated we swing focus back to an escalating conflict between the religous nuts and our military,we escalate this into a terminal conflict where the government seems willing to nuke the religous factions,at this point you quickly have a miltary coup wherin half the remaining one third of our assests defect to the religous side.

Now we are ready.

Our enemy will be forced to intervene when faced with an escalating dynamic between us that they have absolutely no active role in.

We now crush their nuts.

They are here for us!They came here out of need,had they possesed the capability to simply take what they chose ,they simply would,so,we already know we have a power they fear.

Its called MADD.Mutually assured destruction.The reason we have thousands of nukes all over the world is because we secretly allowed the proliferation because our governments have alsways been aware of the threat.


We know we arent going to waste ourselves,we arent that stupid,but they dont understand us enough to realise this.So we put them between the hammer and the anvil,religon and reason.

They cannot understand either concept or how we blend the two so THEY ARE IN OUR HOOD NOW BABY.

When they come in toSTOP US FROM DESTROYING OURSELVES and also destroying their resource,ha ha ha ,we shanghi them .

at the appropriate moment as per our now obtained intel tells us we marshall our forces and hit them from the inside using our religous friends.

No one screws with the rainbow people ,and that is what we are known as.

As soon as our religous nuts get their paws on these enemys of ours WE HAVE THEM JUST WHERE WE WANT THEM.

I will stake my life on the fact that a religous nut will convert any alien they can TALK WITH,gauranteed.And once you are in,you are in as they say.

We infect the poor beestards with the worst viral disease known to man.

And watch them begin to experience the inner turmoil humanity has learned to tame ,but that will be like an acid trip to them.

Once our religous allies have swayed enough insiders amongst our enemy we execute our offense ,whatever we have left.I am sure some of these aliens will quickly fall IN LOVE with one human or another ,and once they get infected by passion ,they are almost ready to fall,LOVE is our trojan horse.

OOps I guess I got carried away there .I think I was trained in this type of stuff when I was abducted by a group of humans in a military craft,and later trained on the moon.

This is only play time,I intentionally misdirected the essential dynamic contexts of this hypothetical engagement based on the fact that only a fool would not boobytrap tactical information concerning earths defense from a foriegn threat.

The abduction and the training are not playtime.

Humanity has the resources and capability to more than hold its own in the universe.

we dont need many survivors to keep our species viable.

Thats where I would start,now you see why I sugessted capturing an enemy to gain intel as my earlier first step.
