I am downloading a trial of acrobat now, I will give it a try with my own BC lol. I don't own or use illustrator, I am a photoshop guy myself. I am gonna have my cousin open it for me and see what happens.

Yes, of course I know what an abstract is. My point is that the DOH has said on their website which of the two, copy or abstract, that the LFBC PDF is, and that it is certified as presented on the White House website.

My conclusion: Obama is a fraud!

have you contacted your local state representative ? local senator ? mayor ? town cop ? donald trump ? I'm sure there is at least a lawyer out there looking to make a name for himself and bring a case in front of the supreme court.

I believe the choice of editing software is not as important as the specific use of the Optimize Scan function in Adobe Acrobat when converting to PDF.

I used Photoshop 7.0 with Acrobat and had no problem reproducing AshleyD's results first time through

I look forward to reading your own, independant results. After seeing the outcome for myself I can better understand why some of the posters more deeply invested in the fraud allegation are hesitant to give it a try.

Personally, I cant help but believe I see a bit of a quandary at work for some. It stands to reason if the results are so easily dismissed one would think the imagery "experts" who are saying the document is an amateur forgery would be more willing to participate and contribute something more definitive than rhetoric.

If its honestly about the truth and not political agenda being sought, I see no reason that anyone reading this thread with the tools to run the test would not be eager to provide data regardless of expectations simply because larger sampling pools in control tests produce more reliable data.

Just a reminder ATS, being dishonest is much worse than being wrong.

Well I tried, I could not reproduce a mess anything like what obama's BC looked like. Here is what I did...

1) scanned it
2)edited out some info, since I was planning on posting my results here
3)saved as jpg
4)opened it in adobe acrobat pro 10
5)optimize(some of those options listed aren't there) with this settings

6)opened it up in illistrator, it gave some error message

I have a lot of trouble catching on to who is contradicting me, and why.
Anyway, here is what I believe is pretty much the beginning of the beginning of the 'eligibility' issue.
Once these 3000 GOP members catch on to the issue, my guess is that it will spread like wildfire from here.
But bet?, I don't bet. My father made it through the depression as a card sharp, when I was 6, he didn't give me any 'kids chance', on all games of chance, he just piled it on 100%, I got tired of it right there, I never bet, nor even play any games of chance.
It just seems to me that the starting gun has sounded, and the horses are off and running.

But here's the thing - there's really no percentage in pursuing this issue from the GOP's standpoint. The truth is that with the release of the long form, a majority of the population is now happy and consider the matter closed - or at least not worth any more of their time and energy. They feel that there are other things that are more important (economy, Medicare/medicaid, unemployment, and a dozen or more other issues).

The Donald made this more of a joke issue than the Dems ever could by publicizing it -AND- with really old, and debunked info. He's now inextricably linked to the GOP - *unless* the GOP distances themselves from the issue.

The GOP has *got* to stay away from issues that are generally perceived as "fringe", and attack on the points that matter to most Americans in order to regain any lost credibility. For the GOP, they need to take a page from Bill Clinton's handbook: "It's the economy stupid"

I'll redo the exercise and post step by step screenshots of my results for comparison and general perusal in the morning.

There really isn't anything difficult involved, there cant be. It would be rather disingenuous to offer the current suggestion as the definitive source of the anomalies if in reality some impractical and counter intuitive process is required to produce similar results. In truth this is a mundane document used millions of times a day worldwide by clients whose computer skills are taxed by anything more than pressing the start button on the printer and any solution offered has to be equally mundane.

If your willing to try once more, after I've posted screenshots of my second attempt, I'll walk through your post and see if I can pinpoint a specific error. Regardless of success or failure, its important that all the final results are posted in the interest of confirming or discarding this current theory.

AshleyD's post was clear that she had some trouble and less than satisfactory results on her first try as well. The post history shows both her and Benevolent Heretic conferred at length before understanding the significance of mistaking OCR (optical character recognition) for the Optimize Scan function in Adobe Acrobat. After sorting out the misunderstanding, subsequent attempts were unquestionably a success as clearly documented a few pages back.

I suspect there is a simple reason behind the less than stellar result you saw after following the same guidelines.

ArJunaBug reported the exercise to be a abject failure, I have some reservations on his/her sincerity but that is admittedly conjecture on my own part.

I had success the first time however I admittedly had an advantage as I was careful in reading through AshleyD's and Benevolent Heretic's trouble shooting posts and cross referencing those to the Nathan Goulding video before trying my own hand. I'll feel more confident if I have a similar results a second time in a row starting with a different document.

So currently two matches for two failures, or more optimistically, three success for two failures including the operator in the Nathan Goulding concept demonstration video.

I look forward to continuing the exploration of this topic tomorrow.

Not only that we do not know if the original scan is an unadjusted original scan. I have NEVER EVER EVER EVER used an unaltered original scan. There is always something that doesn't come out right or needs adjusting for clarity, printing or whatever.
