Libya Claims 'Severe' Hit On Nato Warship

Libyan forces have hit a Nato warship while it was shelling Misratah, the country's state television has claimed.

According to Reuters, the report said "our forces fired (at warships) and hit one directly and severely".
The claims have not been independently confirmed.
Earlier, a doctor at a hospital in Misratah said seven people had been killed during the latest clashes in the rebel-held city.
The medic told Reuters most of the dead were rebel fighters.

NATO official denies Libyan report that NATO warship hit, says report is "totally fabricated"

A NATO official denied a report on Libyan state television on Tuesday that Libyan forces hit one of its warships off the coast near the rebel-held city of Misrata.

"It's a totally fabricated allegation," the official said.

"We have checked with our operational headquarters in Naples who have verified that there are no NATO ships close enough to the coast that could be hit by shots fired by pro-Gaddafi forces," he said.

The NATO official noted that the reports came 24 hours after a NATO ship successfully prevented an attack on Misrata by assault boats.

Either MSM are completely embarrassed enough to remove it because it is false, or something has been covered up.

Given the Western msm would censor the reports for propoganda. I'd say the Libyans are right on this, afterall look at the Falklands and the cock-up made in Port Stanley when it was eventually found out the cause of the direct hit was one MOD ship blocking the way of the other, disabling its ability to defend.

Nothing ever changes when it comes to war propoganda.

He probably hit one of his own ships and thought it was a NATO ship and doesn't even realise it because his head is full of sh*t

Incorrect. You can't hide a warship being 'severely' damaged. If a NATO ship was 'severely' damaged you would know about it. It is simply the Libyan propaganda machine spinning a story for the good of their populace. They did the same a few months ago with claims of Qatari and French planes being shot down.

But a US plane was downed, But it was reported as a mechanical failure, Because they couldn't (for the reasons i stated) give credit to Armed forces shooting at it for its demise.

The Libyan state TV reported that French and Qatari jets were downed. Those French and Qatari claims were part of the propaganda to keep the morale of the people up. Especially the Qatari aircraft claims as they were deemed to be Arab traitors. In reality no French or Qatari aircraft were shot down. Just because an aircraft goes down over hostile territory does not mean that it is a direct result of enemy action.
