The irony is he's allowed to go back to his family after destroying so many in the warzone.

I'm not saying one side is better than the other, I'm against war, guns and violence but it's a very sad truth.

That felt good, nothing like typing with wet eyes!

I do hope that everyone has someone to come home to!

What you don't see is the single person with no one to go back to except an empty dorm/barrack room. While walking past all the happy families. Been there a number of times but it's a heck of a lot nicer to look forward to coming back to someone.

I don't wish to derail or destroy your thread, but I'd like to say that if Americans were able to see their soldiers coming home in coffins draped with the American flag, then maybe there would be less appetite for war.

Let's face it those in the video, were the lucky ones.

I couldn't think of "war" when I viewed this video; I saw uniforms but my emotions were drawn through the child over the elation of the "reunion". That was the string! I didn't even know there was a war at that moment! Amazingly powerful to witness a child, and adults, embracing someone they have missed and worried about for so long.

I think you should watch the video again! Imagine what it would be like for those kids!

Yes but my point is, if the United States stopped invading countries and overthrowing governments (which it has a rich history of) then we wouldn't even be watching this video because it wouldn't exist.

The troops would already be at home, or at least in the United States rather than in another country supposedly "defending" America.

Then there wouldn't have to be the unfortunate children who have their father's return in a body bag, from a cause which is questionable at best.

A body bag which incidentally the U.S government doesn't want you to see....

Here we go. Taking a positive thread and turning it to crap in about 5 minutes. All to beat the Anti-war drum.

Did I jump in stating that War is good and should happen more?
Nope. Your assumption is very funny.

SO jump in, throw a couple of low blows to the groin and jump out?
At least you show your true colors.

No, actually you claimed I was turning the thread to crap so I thought I would be polite and leave you all to it, as it's not my thing.

But if you want to have a slanging match and ruin the thread entirely, then we can do?

Your choice pal.
