Unconfirmed: Bin Laden Mission Aborted, American Deaths from Helicopter Crash

A Pakistan news agency reports that the bin Laden raid on Abbottabad was aborted because of a helicopter crash which killed several passengers, believed to be Pashtu speaking Americans.

Though I'm not sure how much credibility to give the report, it brings up an interesting scenario:

What if the whole OBL story was a cover for a failed mission to plant subversives in Pakistan?

Although I understand the intent behind this, and other posts like it...

Why bother playing Mod? They're the ones that ultimately close threads anyway. So if someone is upset about a dup thread, then there is an alert button, and the mods are pretty good at shutting down dup threads when notified.

Well, not really, no they arent.
Take any topic, do a search and you can always find multiple threads running.

True, kinda. But those are general topics, not specific to an article like this one. Find the dup thread that mentions the article in this thread. Hit "alert". (be sure to include both links) You may be surprised at the results.


FYI: Posting "stop posting this, it's already been posted!" doesn't get threads closed. The OP has no ability to close his/her own thread.

Maybe not, but somebody else pointed out in a thread some days back, it might at least get the thought of doing a search before posting into the minds of anyone who reads it, for future posts.
Its a thought that needs dissemination.
