Wow, this is really a non-issue.

Er, I think what you really mean is that you have absolutely no clue how to refute this evidence. So you pretend to dismiss it as a non-issue because you have no other way of dealing with it.

I didn't even look at the video or whatever it was, it's just literally a non-issue. Who cares where he is from? You should be more concerned with who's influencing his decisions than where he comes from. Why do you think he would need to fake his own birth? Why would this particular human being need to run america? Why not some other guy? Has he really done anything in the past 3 years that's super outstanding or horrible? He's done absolutely nothing either way really. Little things here and there. You guys got on the band wagon and never got off. Everyone except for Trump is over this.

Seems a few people on this subject asshole enough to pretend to be superior to others... Meh.. Most of the time thats the sign of someone with a sad life.

LoL! What? I don't who your directing your profane name calling, but I assume its me. I apologize if you're from Kentucky and I offended you with the reference to knowing what "inbred" means by living there lol. (shot in the dark there). Don't worry, I live in Utah now, and I also know what polygamy is.

I'm sorry, a middle school teacher wouldn't take a youtube video as a "source" or "evidence", so why should I be expected to do the same? Trump spent how much money investigating? And he found what? Nothing. So far, all of the "evidence" has been shown to be made up by birthers with an agenda. An agenda that you are clearly part of.

You now know that kerning is a way of proportionally spacing type.

It is nonsense that a typewriter cant produce proportional spacing - My secretary had proportional ball for her IBM selectric. The first proportional IBM typewriter was made in 1944.

The IBM selectric was introduced in 1961.

So the statement that a typewriter can't Kern is bogus. Even a typwriter of the era. And it is perfectly logical that a state office had a seletric it was the gold standard of typing machines.

The guy that made the video should have asked an old computer guy before he drove off that cliff.

DENY IGNORANCE

You beat me to it! GAH!
Good job. The first electric typewriter was in 1920.

Know Your Typewriter History, Children!

And the PROOF?

In 1941, the company added a new dimension to typewriter technology which Sholes, Jenne and others probably never dreamed possible: proportional spacing. A new carriage mechanism eliminated the uneven appearance of typewritten material where narrow letters, such as "i" and "1" occupy as much space as wide letters, such as "m" and "w." Proportional spacing gives each letter typed only as much space as necessary, and the development has greatly improved the appearance and legibility of typewritten material.

Another one bites the dust!

Also, if you had checked out the comments under the video you would have seen that the video was factually incorrect.

Yeah I saw that I even posted on Utube and apologized (dont often read Utube stuff it is so painfull)-- I was doing it from the "I was there perspective".

I love the voice in the video -- so measured so scientific -- so wrong

Im just curious. The quoted text sounds like it's explaining an advancement that just makes the boxed in space thinner characters have smaller to fit more snug against a letter, where as the OP's video is showing the overlapping of the boxed in space that contains a character. Same thing?

Also, one thing I am curious about is if this letter spacing should or should not be consistent in a typewritten document between two characters.

an essay on proportional type spacing with IBM typewriter

www.quadibloc.com...

--" The chart above shows how a unit system derived from that of the Selectric Composer could be augmented with two alternative spacings for these cases. Note that capital J has become narrower in both additional settings; that is because, in the fonts concerned, it descends below the line, and thus is kerned: that is, part of the letter overprints the space alloted to the preceding letter."--

And that is as far as I am willing to go with this -- guano crazy busted

Great Find OP! This would hold up in any fair court in the United States. Its 100% proof to me.

Well actually no , but after reading more of the posts yup)) was kidding LOL. Still, I would like to see more of the BC s that were issued in the same year by this particular office.

Oh look a supposed "bigot" in the thread trying to make it look like anyone who questions the BC is also a bigot.

Questioning anything is fine but when your "definitely" evidence turns into shades of gray - one reevaluates or moves on

How many more straws will these birthers pull at before they realize that their argument is baseless? No matter what evidence they present--no matter how laughable it is--they just keep coming back.

Dunno, but I'll say this as an educated guesstimation (lol). How long have there been reports of Elvis sightings after he died? Well, probably at least that long. I don't see it going away anytime soon. If it was ever going to loose steam in the near future, it should have done so by now.

Yes, i am quite old enough... And popular opinion says you fail....

Evidence for your emphatic statement about popular opinion?

I have not seen you put forward one valid argument - you're just rubbishing other people's points.

I agree that would be the next logical step, If no other BC issued at that time has kerning, then this becomes a very significant anomaly.

Questions which need to be explored:

In my experience, electronic typewriters give a much more uniform distribution of ink and pressure. Did electronic typewriters in 1960 type characters with the same irregularities as a manual typewriter?

Did the registration dept at the hospital have electronic typewriters on the relevant dates?
