You do realise that the whole "anonymous" thing comes from 4chan, it is literally a 4chan meme. Thus, 4channers, /b/tards, are anonymous.

And anonops isn't the home of all attacks, not at all, in fact they are posing as Anonymous leaders and organizers while the website is still quite recent. Most operation used to be set up by anons through 4chan by flooding the boards with this kind of images.

I don't see the big deal, so some little kids wanna play a big (ish) prank. Now that we all know about it, we can't be fooled by it. I can see the threads now though:

To those saying that this is not Anonymous, ANYONE can be Anonymous. Anonymous aren't necessarily hackers on steroids, script-kiddies, pranksters, Internet vigilantes, or human rights activists, though they can be each of these, depending on the event, who is involved, and how much momentum the idea gets. Anonymous is simply a cultural meme that has been adopted by a wide variety of different people. It was born in imageboard culture, but has since grown larger than that.

The guy who made the image is probably Anonymous, because he is Anonymous if he considers himself Anonymous - the only real way he wouldn't be Anonymous is if he was only pretending to identify with the term.
And if he is Anonymous, that doesn't mean that many other, if any, Anons are going to jump on this bandwagon. In other words, rather than being a concerted effort, it could just end up being a flop, depending on how many Anons it attracts.

Anon Ops isn't used for anything real - don't put too much faith in it. The real Anon stuff is all done through IRC. This operation is a lulz operation - something along the lines of BattleToads.

Uh, why would the CIA need a disinfo program in this day and age? Think about it, they needed it a long time ago concerning UFO's, but thanks to idiocy, ignorance and other obvious issues they have not needed to be active in this field in a LONG time. The UFO subject is filled with ignorant "useful idiots" contributing so much noise to the signal that there is no government program necessary any longer that would ensure we can't be taken seriously.

anonymous has no "offical" forum, or chan, or chatroom...they are everywhere and nowhere.

Thing is, hoaxing is full of fail for anonymous considering..well, they spread the word about it to begin with, which means the hoax is a known hoax before it even gets off the ground.

But ya, if you want source for anonymous, start on 4chan and go from there to the tons of other backwoods chans. that should start you off...do be careful though, chan's have been known to make people rapidly decline in IQ and ability to communicate on any meaningful level..make sure to leave that chanspeak behind when navigating away.

Because when one twat on the internet makes an image macro, it means the whole of anonymous is doing it.

Peoples understanding of anonymous here is freaking hilarious and yet slightly sad.
