I had this happen to me a couple weeks ago. It's nothing earth shattering, but pretty cool. I was visiting friends in Ohio who live next door to the
old Chippewa Lake Fair Grounds. This place was a huge carnival place and was quite popular since the 1800s. The place also had the Largest Clan
convention in the North. Now it's a rusting derelect.... overgrown with brush. Utterly abandoned. Now where my friend lives is pretty secluded and
quiet. Well as I was going to sleep, I started to hear the unmistakable sounds of carnival music , the rumble of an old wooden rollercoaster and the
laughter of kids.... I got up and looked out the window, but there was nothing but darkness and the darker yet silouettes of the old part through the
bushes.. Yet I could still hear the sounds. I grew up near an old amusement park up here in Maine and I know what this sounds like and that's what I
was hearing.... except somehow distant... I went back to bed and fell off to sleep still hearing the frivolity in the park.
The next morning I reluctantly told the story to my host who is the King of all skeptics, and doesn't mind labeling you as a nut if he think you're
being one... (He's a sweetheart under all his gruffness) Well before he said anything his wife Chimes in "THERE! See? I told you I've been hearing
it!" Apparently his wife had been hearing the same thing for years. My friend rolled his eyes a bit, but at least I felt I wasn't just hearing
things!
