Lets see...Lear suggests that they are basically maintenance for earth..and are about as emotional as a screwdriver...they all seem to agree though that grey dudes are basically either enslaved or machines from a different race.

if we sent a chatbot in some robotic suit to a different world, would they be meeting an earthling, or just interacting with our technology?

Its odd if you consider it
You have the battle over LA...heavy weapons and artillery pounding for an hour and no damage is done...then later on roswell happens and theoretically they get downed by some radar waves...

sounds to me like all the military power on earth won't do jack, but a few radar guns may topple them...perhaps our new tech has given them caution when coming too close now due to it being everywhere...neva know

Perhaps the news took too long to get back to the greys controllers on our experimentation with radar, these ships that were fine for exploring Earth for a long time suddenly became obsolete. The greys, being just a subservient bot type of being, had some kind of logical loophole and did not understand immediately the danger that radar posed to their ships. (Or that it might interfere with their ability to control it?)

That would seem to imply that their ships were controlled through a radio interface of some kind, radio seems like it would be an outdated technology for them, but hey we still use fire.

Do you think an advanced race would be dumb enough to travel billions and billions of miles across the universe, take a quick peek and then travel billions and billions of miles back to their home planet?

Donno, how long does it take to travel such distances first off?

a million years? 4 minutes? somewhere in between?

And I didn't say they left, hense the point of this thread...who is still around, what are they doing, what levels of our government have they infiltrated, final goal, etc...not that I think any of these things are even answerable convincingly, but its always interesting to know where the current meme is in regards to pop culture aliens.

in the 50s, it was easy...you had basically 2 groups...the greys and the nords. then it went into a whole slew of weird and unusual descriptions, from bugs, to spade headed ghostlike alien mudmen, etc...then it sort of tapered off straight across the board. one could speculate that the world powers have found a weapon to keep them out of our lower atmosphere...-shrugs-

But ya, the tech involved, according to some of our cutting edge theories, makes the whole space between places a bit of a trivial matter overall..gravitational wormholes, etc...so really the things would only need to get sort of close, then simply coast in on sublight engines, be here in a few minutes flat even from a different galaxy.

I saw this they came from Nibiru and WormWood; i saw it with my own 2 eyes; They came from the planet Nibiru; I'm Scared

I'm Really Scarded!

The Annunaki Are coming
They have orders from the Greys.

And the Reptilians will soon be here from Nibiru.. We must hide please Save yourself!

if ETs exist its more probable that they are interdimensional biengs opposed to interstellar,as wacky as that sounds i just find it impossible that a group of biengs could travel billions of lightyears through an ever changing universe in a single lifetime,an imagination can only stretch so far...

I would put money on it that there is more to the universe than classical physics and current theories. It is a bit scary when you think about faster than light and especially quick intergalactic travel, because it heightens the probability that a malevolent alien civilization would come into contact with us. Unless there is already a larger civilization governing other civilizations, or one that protects lesser developed civilizations for one reason or another.

it isnt that scary, people dont give our race enough credit,i think we humans could hold our own if there ever is some sort of invasion or non-peaceful contact. Also, faster than light speed travel is absolutely impossible for something that is alive and plans to stay alive to do..

Well, first off, we should assume they probably won't be using steam engines or oars to get here...more like gravitational wells and even dimension shifting.

dimension shifting is just a concept, but gravity wells is actual science...bending space from point to point by syncronising two areas, pulling them together, then simply walking across the area, "travelling" a bajillion miles in about 4 seconds...

This does not violate any laws of physics, no warp drive needed...the concept is pretty old also, first brought to mass media with shows like stargate and such...aka, a wormhole. Good sci-fi = actual valid science behind the fiction.(stargate = good sci-fi. star trek is a bit hokey considering they suggest propulsion faster than light)

I guess you could call it fantasy nonsense theories...I mean, after all..what does Einstein know

It's a strategic and logistical impossibility that's true, any race that has the intelligence to advance enough for interstellar travel has access to vast amounts of rare resources like helium-3 and anti-matter and probably the technology to make every military capability we have obsolete, like advanced EMP, nanomachine or biological engineering technology (specialized viruses/pathogens). Plus they would be attacking us and we can only defend on Earth, a lose-lose situation.

We don't have to capability to defend, let alone attack from orbit. Even if the US, Russia or whoever has some secret orbital weapons it is likely not enough to counter something of the magnitude of what would attack us and would likely already know more about us than we do.

That's why I support commercialized spaceflight and exploration.

i understand that wormholes MAY BE possible,it isnt scientific fact because a real one has never been studied because one has never been discovered..if a wormhole did exist however, and its properties were similar to those of a black hole i extremely doubt ANYTHING could survive this sort of travel..

im sure a nuke or two could take care of em,dont discredit human technology we do possess weapons that can reach orbit and beyond..

Please, enlighten me, weapons technology happens to one of my interests.

Our interceptor missiles can only engage targets in a relatively low orbit and we're even welcoming enough to point our nuclear ballistic missiles inward for them.

If we are assuming extraterrestrials are making ships that cruise at Mach 10 and such, it's not unreasonable to assume they can make missiles that go even faster and release deadly grey goo, viral or anti-matter payloads. A simple missile traveling in from space would also have accumulated a lot of velocity, we would not likely be able to intercept it.

im sure youve heard of missiles before.lol.missiles that reach orbit are common, modern nukes are designed to travel great distances if needed, even to the upper atmosphere and beyond..

Okay dude, yea your right it would probably happen just like the movies. They come down and we'll send Seal Team 6 to take em all out.

One theoretical method of asteroid deflection involves launching nuclear weapons aboard spacecraft. It'd take time, but we'd be able to get them pretty damn far, talking like .3 AUs. But otherwise, as much as I'd like to give humanity credit, I think that a race that could develop a means to travel here probably found a way to turn that technology or at least the physics behind that technology into a means of causing destruction.

Radar guided missiles need a cross section to bounce off of. IR missiles need IR frequency modulation to lock onto a target - we have missile warning receivers already, I do not doubt aliens would have something better. Bullets and bombs use good ol' directed kinetic energy though - just a matter of getting something big enough to move fast enough.

If I was an alien in high earth orbit and wanted to extinguish the life on a planet to get ___ resources, I would laugh at the hooman's puny nukes

lets see them launch against 20 asteroids I just pushed at earth...muahahaha

sorry mate, spears verses jet fighters unless we get get our arses off the ground and engage them from their supply base...which means interstellar travel and knowing/using their own technology.

maleviolent alien invasion concepts sound highly illogical, but if for some reason that did happen, we would be ultimately screwed no matter how good a shot you were. They could wipe us out 8 ways to timbuktu before we even seen one of their ships land...even really dumbass aliens/monkeys in a machine.

Its fine though...Will Smith is still alive, the aliens know better to try anything while he is still around
