I believe in parallel/alternate universes; ones that exists for each and every possible outcome....

and not just OURS, but for every being in every civilization in the entire universe.

I firmly believe that when we dream, we are actually traveling to these other universes, temporarily experiencing our alternate realities and not as a mere spectator, but living it out alltogether.

Most would argue and say that dreams are solely your imagination (gone wild) while you are at a state of deep rest. Here is my main counter:

-Imagination (or daydreams) DO NOT have the many intricate details found in dreams; colors, textures, smells, physical harm, plants, dogs, sunshine, raindrops, furniture, dirt, sidewalk cracks, etc). For example, If wanted to daydream about being with Michael Vick, all my mind is going to conjure will be his face, body, me and a very bland event that lasts only seconds (kissing, etc.....). But if I DREAM about him, there will be emphasis on every detail of our clothing, the place, the weather, the lighting in the room, aroma, voices, pictures on the wall, carpet color, etc. Our minds will not produce these minute details on a whim.

Dreams are already occuring by the time you 'get there'. You appear to have been 'placed' in this other 'You' that exists within another reality; perhaps you are a famous actor, or a mother of four instead of two...but its always 'You'. After you wake, the 'characters' of the dream may not be recognizable where in dreamland they were, and so are places and talents.

Travel to other universes can also involve a bit of time travel. Remember that the art of time travel is simply going faster than the motion of your galaxy through the universe either forward or backward (basically faster than the speed of light). Well, when we visit dreamland, our minds have been set to its most purest state. Most would assume that we are unconscious during REM but studies show that our brain wave movement moves the same as when we are awake. So how does this tie into time travel? The mind, in my opinion, is in a sense a 'wormhole' where travel can be done much faster to greater distances. Electro magnetic waves (radio waves) have the ability to travel at or faster than the speed of light and brain waves are technically radio waves.

Think about it: the only thing that can travel faster than the speed of light is the speed of THOUGHT.

I can literally think my way into a vast distance much quicker than light can get there.

This allows us to travel grand distances throughout this universe and millions of multi-verses when our mind is at this -subconscious-like state' back in time, forward in time, alternate realities.

That is why in dreams, things seem 'crazy' or too fantastical. There are more laws of gravity and laws of physics than those of this universe.

Also in dreams, when we 'switch scenes' it is because we are traveling and visiting so many different times and places that they appear to blend together.

Lastly, when we awake, notice how you are always a tad bit 'off' for a small, small, moment. I believe that we are disoriented because there is a brief moment of, "Where (or When) am I?" We quickly gather in the new scene of our familiar surroundings; laws of physics appear to be what we are used to and so we know we have arrived back 'home'.

Thoughts and comments are welcomed

i think the same thing, but i also think there is no death, only an energy transfer into a different reality/dimension, its liberating with a mindstate like that and it kills me to see so many people taking life as seriously as they do, life is just a stage and a game

I agree completely. We could be living past or future lives, astral projecting anywhere we want at just the thought. If youve ever had a dream where you know somebody in it, only to find out they also had that same dream it raises some questions. I pretty much only have lucid dreams or I dont remember them. Ive been able to "realize" im dreaming and take control of them rather than just go along for the ride (which still happens) I have been trying to get some other people to try and think about a destination right before they go to sleep that is common for everyone, say a 7-11 that you and 2 friends know about. Then while youre dreaming..if you can remember, try and meet up at that location. Ive only gotten 1 person to try it so far but I ended up getting stuck in the dream and couldnt manipulate it that time. (still lucid, but I didnt control it)

I honestly believe that when we dream it means something more significant than experts think...

Oh, I definately believe the exact same thing (about death), and I stumbled upon that concept when discussing this topic in general..

It would seem that death simply means the end of life in THIS universe; we transfer over into another time and place in a real 'other' universe, the same as in a dream, except this time we stay there until the end of that life.

So really, death is just a transfer over into other realities. We never even 'experience' being dead....we never knew that we were here at the moment of death because the transfer is simultaneous.

Sounds very interesting!!!

My dad says that he often tried to find a calendar when he dreams, so that he can find out when and where he is. He says that it is next to impossible!

He also looks for mirrors to be able to determine whether he has journeyed to the past or future and to also check to see if the new laws of physics have affected his appearance.

Funny, I have NEVER seen myself in a dream....NEVER!

That is interesting because for a while I could only see myself third person in my dreams. Like I was watching them

During my experience with '___' I experienced "Om" the vibration of the universe, and I instantly knew where I was and that I had been there before. I knew that it was the stage of reincarnation after death, but I also felt that We pass through this "Portal" when we enter dreams (it really is like a vibrating keleidoscope portal of energy) but I dont know if our subconsciousness somehow blocks us from remembering it. We may very well "die" every night, which is astral projection. The soul or consciousness leaving the body

I have heard of that before (sound of Om being the sound of the universe)!

And yes, that makes sense that we never 'remember' the kaleidescope/ wormhole that we pass through. It doesn't stand out as anything significant because we have traveled through it every night sense birth.....

If you can remember clearly, where you actually watching or living it out?

I really think that we assume we are watching because we are used to 'watching' daydreams/ imagination....

i love the topic thanks op.

i often dream probably every night, but this thing that keeps happening that i havent been able to get an answer to so hopefully i can get an answer here - i will go to sleep as usual have a dream - wake up no problem but a day or two later the dream will play out while im fully concious going about my daily business. its like watching 2 tv sets at the same time if that makes any sense. it is very un-nerving

I only know that I would see myself rather than through my own eyes, but when I do take control of them its always first person and there are no limitations to what you can do

I find myself controlling my own dreams alot. Next time i find this happening i will look for a mirror or calendar. Although i do remember in my dreams flying through space at incredible speeds which is indeed odd.

I believe dimensions are starting to merge as we enter the new state of consciousness. Dreams are going to train us for whats to come. Its like when you learn about the law of attraction, the you learn how to USE it. Its like making coincidences happen, you almost set up connect things you see and witness, but you wouldnt even know about it unless you were trying to do it. Like manifesting occurances. The universe is just a give and take of energy. you receive what you put out. Essentially we literally project this reality as a group, not as individuals. So when everyone figures out that this life itself is most likely a dream anyway (because theres no difference), then the change occurs.

I agree with you in a general sense.

However, I can't totally agree with your post. There is a person about whom I dream and also daydream. In my daydreams, he is there totally. In my dreams, he is there in a more abstract manner. To be honest, I sense this person in my sleep dream state. But I know who it is.

Dreams are definitely more than they seem. I love sleep and dreams about as much as I love life! Im working hard on complete control. I've went lucid many times and the things you can do are truly amazing.

I've researched theories that say the big bang was all things and all different possibilities throughout all time happening at once. This fits in with my theories as of how we are able to tap into these differing dream realities, and also how I have been able to have dreams that predict events in my life, sometimes 100% accurately. If everything really is happening at once, any slip or change would be hardly noticeable after a nights sleep.

I can't wait for 20 posts to make a thread about my most memorable dreams. I've even got some I remember from childhood.

Throughout history, dreams have been considered one way in which another reality can communicate with this reality. Although 99.9% percent of my dreams are what I consider normal, I’ve had a handful of dreams that I consider special. By special, I mean dreams I believe were given to me as a form of communication from an unseen reality. Three dreams I’ve had in particular have convinced me that reincarnation is real.

The first dream I had several years ago. I dreamt I was a bombardier in WWII. I had a different name and I was stationed in England. I dreamt my plane was shot down on a mission over occupied Europe and I died in the crash.

The second dream I had was about four months ago. I dreamt I was in a room with four or five other people. I felt the presence of my deceased father in the room with me but I didn’t see him. I and the other four or five people were told that we were about to be given a “gift.” Shortly thereafter I felt myself flying through blackness. I didn’t know where I was going but I knew I was being guided. I looked off to my right-hand side as I was flying and all I could see were two flashes of light. It didn’t take too long, but eventually we reached a place that I can only describe as a place of light and pure energy. We then turned around and started to fly back through the darkness. After a short time the blackness turned to grey and then the grey parted. I could see the curvature of the Earth down below me. Soon, I woke back up in the room where we were originally and I understood what was meant when we were told were being given a gift. I knew then that there was life after death.

The third dream I had several weeks ago. I dreamt I was a young man in my early twenties and I had enlisted in the air force. I was being trained along with a young woman about my age on some kind of simulator. We were going to be stationed at a “Space City.” I was kind of amused by the term Space City because I knew that term was really more for public relations than an accurate description. I knew where I was going was to be difficult and the living conditions sparse, but I was looking forward to the experience.

I know this doesn’t amount to proof for any doubters. However for me these dreams are real experiences and I believe I have been given a communication of what my past life was, what will happen when I pass from this life, and a glimpse into what my next life might be.

Its possible that you jumped to the future a lil' bit.

I think that is what deja-vu is.......

Yes!!

And I am going to try tonight to do that, look for a calendar or even just asking one of the 'characters' what year it is and where am I ...

I bet that is hard to do cuz it'll be hard to remember......
