Tell me about your avatars and the meaning behind them.

I love Salvador Dali and mine is supposed to be from his painting "The Persistance of Memory" but I can't figure the @#$%ing thing out either so all you can see is a snippet from the corner

How did this suddenly end up in the Geo-Engineering forum

Mine is Raylen Givens in FX's hit show Justified looking like he's about to shoot somebody in the face.

I had just watched Season 1 on DVD so it was fresh in my mind. Excellent show by the way.

She looks like me.

Absolutely did..thankyou so much for taking the time....odd thing is ..when I came back to this thread to thankyou..NONE of the avatars were showing???? Hopefully just a glich that will go away?

Anyhoo..I chose my avatar because it depicts just a nice soft picture of nature, and I love butterflies.

It upsets me that the butterfly has become a symbol for mind control..much like the rainbow has..and other things, so I thought I'd use one just for the sake of how truly beautiful their whole cycle is in nature...and to honour it for what it originally stood for..JUST a BEAUTIFUL butterfly.

Mine is the robotic ninja from MGS, because I am a ninja, love MGS and sit around tinkering with weapons and armour all the time. Epic nerd.

Can anyone explain to me why NONE of the avatars for anyone are showing up for me..since I uploaded mine..

My avatar is showing on my profile..but none are showing up on the board?? I've logged out, then back in..but the same.

Thought it might just be a glitch that would work itself out eventually, but apparently not...argh

Sorry to post this on this thread (but its the thread that started the problem..lol) ..and I don't have pm rights yet, and I feel stupid bothering a mod over this..

Any of you who might have an idea on why , thankyou for responding to my request.

Mine is just me. I think I started playing with it and photoshop because I had a bit of a nose hair issue with the pic, lol. But when I started messing with it, I thought my tattoos looked really cool. They are fully colored in, but I was able to highlight the borders and I think it looks awesome.

Mine is my dog, (that I lovingly refer to as "that thing in the backyard" ) all proud of herself for beating that ball up..... sadly the children can not have any type of ball in the back yard, nor are we allowed to have anything with WHEELS after all SHE owns the yard.

My first street art piece. Used to paint a ton till stencil art got extremely to mainstream. Thanks a ton banksy.

On Apr. 15th, the weather was getting really ugly here in SE Louisiana. I pulled up a radar map to check things out, and low and behold, A HURRICANE OVER MISSOURI!!! Naw it's just a low pressure system, but looked impressive enough for me to grab a screenshot.

Since my Nick is Stormgodess, figured it fit!

Only mistake I made is I forgot to save the original image before I cropped and sized it for the avatar

When you click on tools, Change Your Account Settings page. Scroll down to where it says ...Hide members Avatars and Backgrounds. I'm not sure what yours says at the moment, but mine has a button that says submit. Maybe yours is titled Unhide Members Avatars and Backgrounds?

I had an awesome avatar for like a year then a mod axed it. It was above the file size restriction but I thought it was too funny to pass up. My new one is pretty self explanatory...
