I think we have our source, thanks Phage.

I disagree. Phage posted data and a video of the magnetosphere from the 10th, while the most intense Induction Magnetometer readings started on the 11th.

If you check the video for the 11th you will see the magnetosphere simulation was calm all day.

I still think we can't be sure about what is going on.

Plus the I.M. is still showing very high readings and the magnetosphere is still calm. (For now. Incoming CME)

True, the noise has not decreased commensurate with geomagnetic activity. But I still think it is related. I find it interesting that the strong, narrower band (not really that narrow) signals began at the same time as the increase in the solar wind and the geomagnetic activity that accompanied it.

The broadband noise (the most intense) began near sunrise and continues to show diurnal variation. This leads me to believe that it is a naturally produced effect, perhaps something "triggered" by the initial change in the solar wind.

It appears they are shutting down for the time being.
The website is up, and the induction magnetometer is quiet, starting at 12:00 UTC today.

Peace
