The person you are thinking about...in this case, is John Osteen. He was the one who died, his wife continued in the ministry, and then Joel Osteen took the helm...The reason everyone remembers '99 is because that is the year John died. Citation here: He had a massive church, which grew even bigger after his death.

Everybody is getting this guy confused with Billy Graham. Billy Graham has been sick for many years, with multiple afflictions. He ain't dead yet...no time slips, just mistaken identities.

07 seems to be about when he died in my mind..

I swear I remember seeing it on good morning America, a memorial show for him or something like that..

I remember when the famous concert promoter Bill Graham was killed in a helicopter crash, it got a lot of press. Notably, he co-promoted the Live Aid concerts with Bob Geldof.

I also remembering at the time a lot of people thinking that it was Rev. Billy Graham.

Nothing to worry about. They are just simply getting us ready for when OBL mysteriously reappears.

I Could swear i heard and saw a CBC news report in 1999 or in the 90s that Billy Graham died due to his medical conditions.

This is a serious major wtf Time slip

I see a lot of people "swearing" that Billy Graham died at some point, but how come no one can even come up with a single newspaper article or any other shred of evidence to at least give credence to the idea. Until at least one of you timeslippers has anything besides a foggy memory (our memories are faulty by nature) to go by, this is a non-story and nothing but the product of mass hysteria.

Because according to the "timesliP" theory, billy graham never died in this timeline, only the other one. Therefore, there wouldn't be any reports. Only masses of people remembering he died.

This is my second time posting here, and it's been when I see some ridiculous thread like this.

I live in Black Mountain, NC. Montreat is basically our town inside our town and Billy Graham lives there. He did live with his wife, Ruth, until she died in 2007. See here: en.wikipedia.org...

Billy never died... I can't say I believe or don't believe in this Time Slip stuff you all have been debating on, but in regards to this, you believers just took a major step back in proving your case. This just comes down to hearsay and using what you think you heard and/or made yourself believe. If Billy Graham were to die, you would hear about it as much as you heard about the "death" of Osama. He's one of the most recognizable faces in the world. There will be no debate when he goes.

Good luck with trying to push this one. Mod's should close this one... Abide.

I know it isn't the best source but... en.wikipedia.org...

I find it so amusing how a few people are getting all upset about this.

I thought he passed away also, apparently I was wrong. Although, it seems I am not alone. So what's the big freaken deal with talking about it? What does it hurt? I googled and found more than a few discussions where people thought he was dead. I can't wait to talk to my husband tomorrow, he never forgets anything, and I'm pretty sure we had a talk about him dying. I could be wrong. Even if I am, and all of our mixed up memories are just that, it would still be a very big coincidence and very interesting.

I also love it when people say "omg that's such old news" and "get with it, we beat that story to death 5 years ago"...Sorry we haven't all been long time truth seekers doing life on the internet.

****Attention ATS members in this thread****
Your minds are playing tricks on you. Your recollections of Billy Graham dying are correct but it is not the Billy Graham you are thinking of, it is this one.

en.wikipedia.org...(boxer)

I remember the news report and the correction made about the boxer dying and not the evangelist.

Rest easy, it's not a timeslip.

I've had a few of these moments though, I could've swore Jane Goodall died, I was like 2000% sure and then she's still alive. They talked about her in school......Billy Graham I could've swore I heard he died too; y'all just made me think.

I can't remember if I thought he'd died, or not? It may be the Baker fellow you're thinking of, or maybe Patrick Swayze? (I just saw him in 'roadhouse', a stunning cut of a man who really hated it when you pointed snub nosed revolvers at him ~ and now he's dead too).

I too could've sworn he was dead. Don't know when, don't know how, but if you had asked me if he was dead or alive I would've chosen the former.

Very, very weird.

If I'm not mistaken, Graham passed away during Bill Clinton's presidency, the funeral was broadcasted on TV and Clinton was there to honor him.

But then explain my post above where I said that myself, wife and mother all remember watching the funeral of BG on TV, even remember the freaking CHANNEL that it was on, and remember my mother crying while watching it. I remember this... my wife remembers this, and my mother remembers this.

Don't take this the wrong way, but... we only have your word for that. I'm certainly not saying that you are intentionally distorting your recollection of events; it's just that it has been well-documented that the mind produces false memories due to vague, unimportant information that it receives and inaccurately recalls at a later date.

Even a few minutes - yet alone days or years - between receiving information and recollecting it can throw up false memories of what occurred. This is why eye-witness reports of crimes and other major events are not considered to be the most accurate evidence of the event in question.

So... Either you are incorrect and there's something more to this... I made this all up to go with some elaborate hoax... or there really is something to this.

As previously stated, I don't think that you, or other people, are ''hoaxing'' or lying about this subject.

The vast majority of people who have heard of Billy Graham - I have only heard of him as a name, because he's the biggest US ''celebrity'' preacher - do not remember anything about him dying at all.

I just wonder how many people who say that they remember him dying are the result of the snowball effect of faulty information and, above all, suggestive persuasion.

As I said in my other post, as well, this is not the only experience with this particular phenom I've had, myself, as well.

I apologise, as I haven't actually read all the posts in this thread, so I didn't see your earlier post.

I'm not attempting to ridicule or belittle those of you that hold these memories/beliefs. Personally, I strongly encourage creative and imaginative thoughts.

It's just that, in my opinion, there are much more plausible and rational explanations for these occurrences.

Are they talking about his son? Does he even have a son? Idk. Anyways, I am going to ask my mom. I don't speak with her much but when we lived in NC my mom had him and a woman over for dinner a few times (his wife?). I am going to ask her. I heard her tell me something about him at least a yr ago (I always thought she told me he died.) Now I see this thread. I'm going to call her in a couple hrs. and ask her.. I will post back if she said that she thought he passed away as well. If you don't hear back from me then she confirmed he was still alive.

I just saw on Fox today that Billy Graham has been admitted to the hospital this week.

How many times can this one man die, then quietly be revived?

And why is it that I remember him dying at least three different times, and yet the official record and most other people's memories seem to have been wiped of this?

Who is he? WHAT IS HE?

This is weird, I've heard of the timeslips but never personally experienced one. I can say for a fact the only reason I know the name Billy Graham is because I remember it being a big deal when he died a couple years ago. I had never heard of him before, and when he died there was a bit of commotion for a day or two on the internet about it. I know I'm not confusing him with someone else, this was the preacher we're talking about. I looked up some info about him when I heard about it. I know he died, and I know it was Billy Graham I'm thinking of.
