Actually all those what you presented (The pacific ocean ones) are the aftershocks of the EQs of yesterday. The others are happened in Spain. So, it's pretty unusual.

Source ANSS using these parameters

* catalog=ANSS
* start_time=1964/01/01,00:00:00
* end_time=2011/05/11,19:46:41
* minimum_latitude=36
* maximum_latitude=43
* minimum_longitude=-9
* maximum_longitude=0
* minimum_magnitude=5
* maximum_magnitude=10
* event_type=E

Now that is just 17 mag 5+ earthquakes in 67 years. I believe that makes this one quite a significant quake.

My point was that you statement "it is nothing" was in this case erroneous.

By the way in that same time span there were only 171 mag 4.0 to 4.99 which is not very many compared to some parts.

Of those 17 mag 5+ just 2 were 6+

Hmm according to earthquakestoday.info... this doesn't happen every day as the Earthquake intensity level is at it's highest level, this measures ;

The number of magnitude 5+ earthquakes in the past 7 days. The colors indicate normal intensity (green), above normal (yellow) or way above normal (red).
Normal average is 33 (5+) earthquakes per 7 days

After shocks of what, the Southern Pacific has been experiencing moderate quakes for past few days. Look at the dates and locations on my post and you will see it represents a global picture of the last 12 or so hours, including the two in Spain. It is not, in any way, uncommon for Spain to experiance earthqakes.

You cannot equate earthquakes on a global scale. An earthquake can only be evaluated locally. The fact that this was 'only' a 5.3 can only be judged by historic seismicity for the area.

For Japan this would be average. For Spain it is big.

There is a very deep low on it's way over. They are heading inland as they always do in front of a deep storm approach.

Just so everyone knows Rome is the capital of Italy so I have to say, close enough.

Anyways I predicted a disaster/earthquake on todays date and in Rome. This was not based on any other people's predictions, like nostradamas or the seismologist that died.

This was based on the fact of May 11 being illuminating number, the simpson show that shows a clock landing by Homer with the small hand on the 5 and the big hand on the 11 (time is 5:55) right after they detonated a bomb/earthquake. And also the fact of the false flag event where they announced osama dead and beatified Pope John Paul (in Rome) on the same day. Not a coincidence. (Heard HAARPS numbers are off the chart today also).

Some may say it is still a coincidence but it should be noted. And here are the following links where I predicted this. Under katndew......

Sandstone is what the building materials are exclusively consisted of in this region. As you can see in this pic the reinforcing grids used aren't built to withstand Earthquakes and so like powder the Sandstone rock simple grinds away during a quake, eyewitnesses state the S-Waves in the larger 5.3 were up to a minute in duration, hence why images of such scenes as buildings with entire sections torn off are now coming out (train station in Lorca.)

twitpic.com...

Reports of hospital ward sections in the town collapsed aswell, with 2 buildings pancaked completely & a sports hall completely flattened.

Allow me to clearify. I wasn't attempting to quantify the quakes in Spain on a global scale. My intentions were to show the number of moderate size shakes (those similar to the ones in Spain) which have occured in the last ten to twelve hours in an attempt to disprove the "accurate prediction" portion of the thread.

I do agree that this size quake in Spain can be, as we have seen, destructive, but while infrequent, are not uncommon.

There did just happen a rather severe earthquake in Spain.
It's headline in the news here: www.demorgen.be...

At least ten people killed, the largest earthquake to ever have occurred in this region.

Piece of the story behind the link

It would be the most powerful earthquake ever recorded in the area that was measured.

The cracks in that church on Sky News do not look good, their like 3cm - 4cm wide. How would they repair this? just slap concrete in the hole then make it up with sand stone?

That would be terrible. The construction of the building in Spain are utterly sh!t and that is no understatement.
