Mysterious noise in Virginia?

A loud boom rattled Hampton Roads and the Eastern Shore but the source is a mystery.

Media outlets report that the mystery boom occurred Tuesday night. It was reported in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake and Suffolk.


Some residents reported that the disturbance shook their homes.

Did not see this posted so check the link and give some feedback. Might be a meteorite or something of the sort. What I don't understand is why no one could of seen what made such a disturbance. If it were a meteorite you would think that NASA would inquire the idea, very weird.
