Where do you think that there is a possibility for a terrorist attack?

The White House?

Empire State Building?

What do you think?

Ridge said on CNN that agents on the ground have been issued hundreds of radialogical pager type detectors in and around the buildings that have been targeted. Just think of the world wide financial meltdown if a suitcase nuke was set off at Wall Street

Frankly, an easier target is our Malls, and with far greater financial impact.

Financial impact? what if you destroy a Baby Gap and a Starbucks or even a whole mall I dont really see a large financial impact. Though they are indeed easy targets I would see it more as a human lives target then any financial target. A busy shopping day around Christmas would kill alot of people

Think to C and don't stop thinking from A to B.
The financial loss comes from people being scared as hell. Kill 200 Americans in a Mall, maybe inside a Starbucks.

THat will keep people away from shopping malls for a while and in general from huge shopping locations. Now that's financial loss. Easy.

Imagine explsions at a couple of malls. Wouldn't you be a little apprehensive about going to one or sending your family to the mall. I think the financial impact would be huge.

We can always shop online
I agree there would be a financial loss. But I see the human loss of life as the real thing the terrorist want. If hundreds of people die anywhere in a stadium a mall whatever somepeople are going to be scared and not go out at all.

people might be reluctant to even go to work, grocery stores, etc..

I really don't like the feeling of being afraid to go outside in my own country of which i've lived a free and great life up until now (or until something happens I mean).

I guess there is the olympics in Greece which would be hugs in terms of terror to.

Instead of hitting places i thought the internet would be good to strike, brining down the whole system or something?

Some of our largest national retailers are only exclusively located at Malls. Attacking them would have a devastating financial impact on the nation and our economy. If people were afraid to shop the malls, even for a very short while, we could see the collapse of not only our economy, but at foreign locations as well. Think about all of the consumer goods manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, trucking companies, employees....The chain is endless and the impact would be HUGE.

It would be: "unlikely, unexpected, something not watched, not a landmark and more devastating than the WTC".
Well I guess we just have to focus on what is not being watched...

I'm thinking something more in the way of a transportation or travel chokepoint myself.

If I was a terrorist, I'd start slowly and work my way up. Smaller, insidious attacks that would create fear, and start the rumor mills. My picks would include (in no particular order):

* Food/water supplies/facilities
* Local factories that use toxic chemicals
* Destroy the way local EMS officials could respond
* Local communication

If you plan it right and are unobtrusive, you could pretty well come and go as you please - hitting more than one city before going out in your "blaze of glory".

Considering how the terrorist idiots are ...
I'd say EVERYTHING is open to being hit.
These evil loonies will kill just to kill.
It could be one person, or thousands ...
they are bloodthirsty.

My bets .... Olympics, Sports venues in the US,
FINANCIAL places.

UBL has said that to bring America down, our
finances have to be hit hard.

Idiot terrorists. If America is brought down that
will be the end to the free money we hand out
to Muslim countries ... all those billions of $$
going to Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, African Muslim
countries ... it will all be gone because we will
have collapsed.

Talk about biting the hand that feed them!

If "they" wanted to stop this country cold...........go into a few major cities to the unguarded facilities where the gas tankers are parked each night. Replace the fire extinguisher with timed charges set for rush hour. 7000 gallons of unleaded ignited in about 3 or 4 major cities would shut down gas delivery in every major city until it could be sorted out.........we would be running on empty for a few weeks. The DJIA/NASDAQ would tumble and crude prices would soar.

In my humble opinion......

Little bit off the topic, i know churches were targetted in Iraq and im worried incase Canterbury Cathedral is targetted now, potential UK target. Alot of tourists go to the Cathedral, especially American
We've had an Anthrax scare just after 9/11 here. If UK targets are to be hit, then Canterbury Cathedral will probably be on the list, its only 5 minutes from me

1. the obvious financial institutions.
2. the obvious Olympics
3. the less obvious big cities that don't attract as much media hype because there are fewer news sources there.
4. Malls/shopping centers etc.
5. oil refineries
6. nuclear facilities
7. the last place we would ever guess (if I'm trying to think like a terrorist)
They are going to go for targets of opportunity. (if you buy into the whole terrorist thing) and surely have backup plans should their plans for the obvious hits be thwarted.

Wal-Mart. Go to a super a few Walmart's in each of the fifty states. Car bomb. No dirty bombs or checmicals, just explosions to kill 200 to 2000 people at each site. Truck bombs. this would destroy American confidence in bineg able to get the basics of life. Also hit any water refineries that you can. Pollute the water in a few major metro areas like San Fran, LA or NYC.
As much as it is financial targets they talk of on TV, the terrorist also wants to create the carnage that incites the fear in the person who reads or sees the story.

They want an image of dead children who were shopping for school supplies or familes ripped from cars during the explosions. We have just had enough time to take away the image of the planes from our minds, and slowly begun to calm our fears that now is the time for them to strilke.

The could destroy communications and Take away the internet, we read more. Take away TV, we go outside more. Take away our Oil, we get to work on bikes. But take away food, clothing and water, and we are literally screwed.

Hey, don't you guys think the biggest mall in the U.S would get hit sometime? I mean, the Mall of America...it's got literally half teh U.S in there....it's terrorist paradise! I hope they don't...but sadly, I think it's a likely choice for them..
