I always thought we had to title the thread the same as the headline we were linking to. I didn't come up with the thread title. If I'm wrong about the rule, then I'd like to know because I'd rather avoid confusion like this in the future.

ps - I didn't overlook your post. You had some very valid points and you seem to have actual pure intentions when you speak against illegal immigration. I didn't mean to detract from them.

Here's your report in a nutshell. Nothing but educated guesses and assumptions.

The costs of illegal immigration are both quantifiable and non-quantifiable. Because data on illegal
immigration generally are not collected, even quantifiable costs must be educated estimates

www.fairus.org...

While many of you continue to bash illegals you fail to see the bigger picture.

Illegals didn't create our 14 trillion dollar mess, didn't create the three wars we're in, didn't write up loopholes for corporations, didn't write the laws that give them the benefits you say they are entitled to, didn't elect the politicians who promised to take care of illegal immigration, didn't create Wall-Street greed, didn't allow the exodus of manufacturing jobs from the US, didn't declare the war on drugs or the war on terrorism, and didn't spend money like crazy on defense projects.

Should illegals be here. No, but the reality is that they always have been. It has always been a part of us and always wil be.

Should politicians do more to stop them. Sure. They should issue tamper proof SS cards, all employers on e-verify, and penalize any employer paying under the table.

But again, illegal immigration isn't what is destroying our country. How long have our politicians known about our debt, social security/medicare, corporation loopholes and other pending issues? and What have they done to solve those problems besides bandaids.

Illegals are merely being used as scapegoats.

We could get rid of all the illegals today, build moats and 100 foot walls around the borders and we would still be in the same boat.

Who would you blame then?:shk:

Adios

I am pretty sure that is correct for the breaking news section, not too sure if it applies to this forum though.

Who is really at fault, GE or the United States Government for keeping tax avoidance loopholes open?

You are demonizing the company for something the government lets them do.

The same thing with the illegal immigrants!

It's our government leaders fault that both illegal immigrants can so easily enter our country and go to our schools, get food stamps, etc., etc., on our tax dollar, ....

AND,

it's our governments leaders fault that the huge companies like GE don't have to pay taxes!

You do know that ITEP is funded by quite a few leftist foundations, and also happens to have some questionably leftist members on their board right?

But that doesn't matter to you right? Surely there is no ulterior motive is there?

My motive was to point out that, while you are whining about our southern neighbors, there are HUGE ultra-wealthy corporations that rape us every single day! But I never hear southerners complain about them. Instead of complaining about these tax-evading companies outsourcing your jobs, you complain about immigrants!

It's a matter of choosing your battles and seeing who should be taken down first. If you still think the problem is people, then you are blinded by hate.

No see, that's the problem with this country, the "take care of one thing" Bullocks attitude. No WE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF ALL OF IT IN ONE FELL SWOOP!!! If we did this, maybe the national debt wouldn't be so high! Maybe.

How do you do it all at once? Don't get me wrong, that sounds great but... how do you fix all of these type of problems at one time?

Elimination of the U.S. government and a fresh start focused ONLY on the Constitutional duties of government.

That would definitely give us a step in the right direction.

Which doesn't begin to offset the hundreds of billions illegals cost this country every year. And while GE corporate may not have paid any in income tax their employees did and the sale of their products did.

See, that's the language you should use to attract more liberals to libertarian ideas (you need them, too). When you concentrate on racially motivated platforms, it scares away lefties like me.

Put aside the animosity and prejudices and you'd be surprised at what a power house libertarianism can be.

Well I say let an asteroid hit the earth, then stat all over, but that's justme.

That would solve many of our issues! Especially if it hit DC.

Given that liberals support and propose countless unconstitutional policies, they aren't a group of people I would want to be in the vicinity of, much less associate with.

To be frank about it, if all leftists and jesus nut righties dropped dead tomorrow, I think we would all be better off.

Not a single tear would be shed.

Seems like false equivalency to me. How much did the illegal immigrants cost us? Isn't it close to this for California alone? Nice try, though.

well considering there are many illegals who do cost us billions of dollars with just medicaid and government grants alone that go to hospitals and community health centers.

i know for a fact that they go there no questions asked fill out a little paper work and the deal is done.

most interesting is the spanish signs up and the staff well fluent in spanish.

fact is paying $11.2 billion through fraudulent means and they get free healthcare on the taxpayer dime.

and the fact remains illegals displace legal americans for jobs that unemployement rate could be cut in half possibly.

Wow, you are dark.

Anyway, I think you are confusing "liberal" with "democrat". They are mutually exclusive concepts. Liberal and conservative views both require, by their very natures, a shrinking of federal influence on the citizens.

The fact you think all liberals are democrats and that all republicans are conservative shows that you've fallen for the whole left/right illusion you claim to hate.

Point out a single liberal who doesn't advocate unconstitutional policies.

Lets see who you come up with and who has truly fallen for the left vs right myth.

Uh... me? Several friends of mine? You aren't going to find them in spoon-fed media just like you aren't going to see conservatives that aren't republicans in MSM.

Oh, since your friends (who coincidentally may or may not be imaginary) have certain beliefs that are unable to be verified, you come up with a nice little exit strategy when asked for proof.

Surely there must be a single recognizable person that shares your uh "friends" beliefs.

Who is it?

I don't know what else to tell you in order to convince you that some people think for themselves. You have democrats (a political party) who's targeted demographics are liberals (a leaning) and you also have republicans (a political party) who's targeted demographics are conservatives (a leaning). There are people from both camps that are not fooled by the party system.

The answer of "who is it" would be "look around". I thought you were one of them but I guess not.

You have already stated you are an "open borders" kind of guy.

What other ridiculous unconstitutional programs do you support?

Legal open borders, Mr. Put-words-in-peoples-mouths. I also made it clear to you that I feel a state has rights to enforce border policy (in answer to your question you specifically asked).
