Here’s the link to the latest STEREO Behind COR1 that displays what appears to be a video of solar flare activity with a green sphere to the upper right of the Sun. Then there is that black squiggly thing to the right of the Sun.

stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov...
Well, after all, it is NASA

nonsense that is clearly a pixel glitch that just so happens to look exactly like what a comet would look like if it were to pass close to the sun...

really though pretty cool stuff!

Hmmm that, indeed, is interesting looking! Unfortunately I'm not well versed in astronomy, so I can't even really speculate on it but you have my attention. Hopefully someone can give us better information on this soon, but good work sir. Flagged

Whoa I wasn't expecting that, interesting find. I can't say what it is really but I'm sure the skeptics will have a couple of answers. Although I don't really know much about the equipment being used, to me it looks like an actual object of some kind and not a glitch, whether that object is a piece of dust, a comet, or a spaceship I don't know, but I can definitely agree it looks like a comet more then anything.

In the first link, there is a green partial sphere just above, and to the right of the Sun. As a comparison, I added the other link. The third link, displays a planet I believe.
The original link was to the bookmark that I use, when I want to view STEREO.

First try! Pure luck in screen grab eh?

Question; These cams? are filtered so only certain light frequencies are visible...WOULD a comet be visible???

Good looking out in any case OP!

That is correct, look at the date. It's not from today.
This link is what I use when I go to STEREO.
I had originally started a thread about this unusual looking photo, that suddenly comes alive with the comet streaking from the bottom up. And yes the solar flares appear to never move.
I never filed the thread, but the OP is linked to my bookmark.
sorry for all of the confusion.

Oh I see now this was the original link: stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov...

But actually using my eyeballs this time I notice the timestamp. Thats from January of 2010.

Soooooo, I don't see anything in this clip you're speaking of.... if the sun was a clock, what time is the anomaly you're speaking of at? As in, where should I be looking?

I edited-in a question on my picture post...

It's directed at whoever knows the answer because I certainly don't.

I looped the player, and timed it like a drum beat...Pure LUCK on my part...
