I am in the Southeast very near a large naval air base. In the last 2 hours there has been a major flyover (sounds like C-130s or huge carrier plans) about every 5 to 10 minutes. There have been 3 flyovers in the last 10 minutes. I'm going to hold this post another few minutes to literally count flyover. In this time I have heard:
- One smaller sounding plane is circling 10:11
- One larger commercial airline sounding coming in 10:12
- One larger commercial airline sounding coming in 10:15
- One smaller plane just flew over at 10:18
- One larger plane flying over now at 10:20
- One smaller plane just flew over at 10:22

It's been an odd day with police all over the road way, reports of the letters delivering in DC, and now what sounds like a maneuver going on. Is anyone else near an airbase experiencing this?

How much flyover would indicate a battalion being brought in or a major troop/equipment movement.

Been like this for a while in my area now. I live in FL and ever since the strange noises occured this became extremely prominent. Not throwing any flags here, but I am curious too.

Hi, were pretty close to Kirtland afb in nm. In the past three days i have noticed a surge in military craft flyovers inc helos and bombers. Speak of the devil heres another one now. Were also very accustomed to the normal amount of airport activity. The weird thing is, i havent seen or heard a passenger jet all day. Literally since yesterday at about noon mst. Ill keep my eyes and ears open. Stay vigilant.

Liverpool England here..

I've heard a fighter jet over the past few days flying over. going North to South. I know it's a fighter jet because it flies over a few seconds later WOOSH.. plus I've seen low flying planes every time I hear one my heart sinks and I think HIJACKED PLANE.... and wait for an explosion, every day they fly over. I just noticed it's 3:30 here and I've NEVER heard a plane fly over at night. weird.

EDIT: LMFAO!!! As soon as I pressed enter a plane flew over... conspiracy over for me lol

This may or may not have anything to do with it but I have seen an incredible increase in Police cars lately in NS Canada.

I have lived here for 3 years and last year with my new business, I was on the highway and in the City almost every day. Normal police sightings in both areas and sometimes I even made a comment to my brother that there doesn't seem to be many police out and about...and that's a good thing.

This spring, I can't even drive down the street without seeing them. I don't live in the city but rather in a sleepy suburb.

Today, I'm driving down the Highway. Distance to my destination is 45km. We counted 5 cars on the way there and 7 on the way back. It's ridiculous. Last spring at this time, I might have seen 1...and maybe not even that.

Anyway, thought I'd put this in here as we are both on the East Coast. Coincidence probably but I can not get over the number of cruisers I am seeing every day.

Yesterday I went to a meeting. Traveled about 25 miles round trip. I saw no less than 20 police cars. These were suburban police cruisers, state patrols, city police, everyone. I'm supposed to fly out of town on Tuesday and I'm starting to get concerned given the uptick in activity, the increased discussions about the porous US border (both North and South).

I've been near Hill Air force Base in Utah and have noticed an increase in activity over the last week or two. Also been noticing planes going in directions i did not see them go previously.

We shall see, if it's anything at all.

Not to much of an increase in POlice activity where i'm at, not TO much. (yet)

Yesterday we had some kind of military plane fly over. It looked like a regular commercial passenger plane but was dark grey and seemed wider. It was flying much lower than the regular planes that fly over here every day and it was flying towards north northwest which is different than the commercial planes that fly over from east to west or west to east. I'm in Ma. , about 10-15 miles from Boston. I've never seen any military aircraft here before.

Weird. Just earlier today when I was out it struck me how many police cars I was seeing. Now this thread. With others seeing increases of police. I don't live near a base, so no unusual air traffic.

Is anyone on here from the Michigan area? Anyone noticing any ramp up in activity in that area. Everywhere I turn for the last week Michigan has been popping up in meetings, discussions, people doing job searches, department of defense conference was just there. Interested in what may be happening there with military flyover, beefed up security.

Yeah yesterday a black hawk landed in the small town I live in to refuel, out of the 30 or so years I've lived here I can count on one hand how many times that has happened before with Military choppers. This morning I got up to let the dog out around 04:00 and in the southern sky for as far east to as far west as I could see there was a line of aircraft the only other time I've seen anything like that was when we went in to Iraq the first time but that time they were in a line right over town.

I counted 14 aircraft this morning flying from east to west and it looked like they were flying at about 2000 feet which I find kind of strange. Seeing this thread made me think about it again so I thought I would through it out there. No there are no bases around where I live with that said most nights of the week you can go about 10 miles south of where I live and at some point between 24:00 and 03:00 you will see choppers flying low, like below or around 500 feet coming from the south east going north west right between all the little towns.

If you go north 9 miles at 24:00 - 03:00 you will get the hell scared out of you by B1 B Lancers or stealth bombers or b52s most of the time its 2 aircraft sometimes it just one, you don't hear them tell there right on top of you and it is load because of there speed and because there 500 feet or lower it can be hard to see them but you damn sure can hear em. they also fly from south east to north west. They have been doing this for years around here and I can tell you its awesome to see and hear.

I've read they are amping up police presence all over the country in regard to the OBL "assassination" and it may be due to preventative measures or maybe something far more insidious. lol Good luck!

Funny you should mention this, a couple of days ago 2 Chinook helicopters went flying over, just a bit above the tree tops. Course we live about an hour or so from an Army Depot here in Texas. That never happened before.

I'm from Windsor and I certainly have seen an increase in mysterious planes flying over the area lately. I assume they're military because they're not your normal everyday airplanes, they're quite big and loud. There was one day a few weeks ago that had activity like the OP said, every 7 minutes one of those suckers were coming in and there's no air shows.

On a side note, there was an air show last year and the B-52 Bomber made a surprise visit; flew over my house and literally shook the # out of it, I though # was hitting the fan! Haha.

There is usually a big influx of military flights during the first few weeks of every month in the southeast. I work at an airport in GA as a lineman. We always expect and get a large number of military aircraft the first couple of weeks of every month.

It has to do with the reserves and guardsmen getting their monthly time in the sky. In the past week we have had 5 to 9 military aircraft come in for fueling and many more doing touch and goes or fly overs.

It should die down in about a week. Expect heavy military aircraft traffic this weekend and possibly next weekend as well.

That is really helpful to know. I hadn't thought about the guardsman calendars, leave and fly time. I'll watch for traffic to drop off.
