The government has been preventing private food growing for years, under other names.

In the area of Texas where I grew up, farmers would plant black-eyed peas and other vegetables on otherwise unused corners of their land. Once they had harvested as much as their own family could use for the year, they would call in friends & neighbors to collect as much as they wanted - for FREE.

It goes back to the days of the Great Depression when farmers shared their surplus with the hungry.

But a few years ago, these farmers were notified that if caught doing this, they would lose their federal insurance. Giving away some extra black-eyed peas on your own property, it seems, is competing with the California black-eyed pea farmers, and competition is not allowed.

They weren't being watched for giving it away, but for growing it AT ALL. This is just ONE small example.

Even without planting a garden and growing your own food, you can still eat.. unless they kill off all the wild places of the world. There is a bounty of fresh foods in nature that are free, you just have to educate yourself. Buy a book, go on nature walks, familiarize yourself with your habitat. If you are not sure of something, don't bother with it.. better safe than sorry.
