Commandos told to kill Osama bin Laden because of fears he was wearing suicide vest

The assault team sent into his hideout would only have accepted surrender if they could be sure he had nothing hidden under his clothing, meaning his fate was sealed as soon as he was found in his bedclothes.

I know this will be posted here in like .3 seconds, but since I'm new, I thought I would throw it up here before right as I saw it.

So it was the plan all along to off bin Boogeyman huh? NOW it comes out in the wash...

This is definitely starting to look like a kill op. This is surely only going to get worse. So that is why BL was captured and THEN killed... because he had CLOTHES on... makes perfect sense really...

If this is genuine information it's more than clear the US government is outrightly patronizing everyone with all these twists in the story, just to show that they can get away with questionable behaviour and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

This is just one government being bold and boastful.

We are all under their psy-op experiment.

Because obviously people walk around with suicide bombs on them 24/7.

Only the most moronic , Xenophobic American would believe this.

Those SEALS effectively murdered Bin laden. Not that I had any respect for him, but I think killing Bin Laden has just lowered the respect of Americans a few notches down the ladder.

Incapable of even capturing him alive, instead choosing to execute and unarmed man.

Sorry America, but this is not how it's done. You are NOT the world police. Instead you are bullies and killers - you SHOULD have captured him alive.

To elaborate:

How can any country respect America anymore, when their only answer is to kill their enemies?

Executing an unarmed man in front of his children is NOT the way to do it. You'd have gained more respect if you'd have taken him alive and sentenced him in front of a court.

For all we know Bin Laden could be innocent. Nothing was ever proven.

Commandos told to kill Osama bin Laden because of fears he was wearing suicide vest

US commandos were told to assume Osama bin Laden was wearing a suicide vest, and must be killed, unless he was naked when they found him, it has emerged.

So they thought he might wear a suicide vest to bed? Oh I see he would have ran and put one on when he heard the helicopters, and doors smashing in.

OK, then why shoot him in the chest? One through the eye, and one in the chest to make sure, that's what we were told from day one. Now of course it says in this article double tap to the head, and doesn't mention the chest.

I'm no explosives expert but wouldn't shooting him in the chest risk detonating any explosives underneath his Captain America pyjamas?

This whole story is full of holes, I grind my teeth reading new information.

We're implementing aggressive budget cuts in a country where incarcerating a criminal for a year costs us around $19,469. Executing Bin Laden is one of those budget cuts.

I heard on CNN today that they shot Binny when he was unarmed but he was reaching for a wall in his room where his guns were kept. I have also read that the US didnt reach the 3rd level of the compound where Binny was at until the last 10min of the 40min raid.
What does not make sense to me is that, after 30min, wouldn't Binladen know he had visitors? In 30 min why didn't he arm himself and await for the US boys to come through the door? I don't buy that Binladen waited for the troops to come through the door with guns pointed at him before he went for his guns.....What was he doing all this time? listening to his ipod?

What really happened or when he really died, we will probably never know. We might have more of an idea when we see the next piece of the puzzle get put into place. (which could be false flag\al-Qaeda or new us war??)

Guess they didn't want to rely on the "bomb sniffing dog" for that info., if he/she was there so hope he made it out safe between all of the gunfire. More holes in the story...

The spin machine is going into overdrive on this one. So far his daughter has said he was captured alive and then shot dead in front of the family, all pictures released show dead bodies without any weapons and not 'riddled with bullets' as if they had been in a firefight. They need to stop letting little bits of information seep out ever so slowly and just tell us what happened. And they complain about conspiracy theoriest? If they didn't act so shady there wouldn't be any conspiracy theories.

New poster, long-time lurker here (6 years ha). If 9/11 was an inside job like MANY claim it to have been, and bin Laden was America's scapegoat, the one to blame for the attacks, then they had to kill him, not capture him. It could have come out that he was working for the US gov't and the US gov't couldn't have that. They said "Let's put an end to this 9/11 chapter by finally taking him out. We're at a low point in America at the moment, and this will help to re-patriotize (?) our people." But he could not be taken alive... if the whole "9/11 was an inside job conspiracy" is true.

Looking forward to contributing to the boards folks!

It simply doesn't make sense. Bin Laden would never allow himself to be captured alive and pose as a war trophy on Fox News, just like the way Saddam was humiliated. All the bullocks excuses Obama and co have come up with haven't convinced me. Contrarily, you would think that Obama would have wanted Osama to be captured alive and stand trial in the US.

To me it sounds more plausible that:
A) Bin Laden committed suicide, which actually makes sense from an fundamentalist point of view. That's not something the American propaganda machine could show off with.
B) The man that was shot to death was not Bin Laden. Perhaps Bin Laden died years ago and was the entire operation a trick to gain support for the war on terror and Obama's presidency. Perhaps another terrorist was set up and is named Osama bin Laden.

We don't know and it remains mere speculation. JFK, 911, OBL, the truth will probably never be known.

I'm pretty convinced they have been making this story up as they go. Now they have to make excuses for killing the guy because other countries are angry that he didn't get a trial. The first excuse I heard was they thought he was armed. The story keeps changing to much. Who is running the government? They aren't very competant are they. They are just fumbling along make up crap.

In my opinion, if OBL made any action aside from putting his hands in the air, then he was going to be killed. OBL's entire evil operation revolves around bombs. If the seals hadn't given OBL the "double tap", it could have meant certain death for all. How were they to know whether or not OBL had that entire compound to wired with explosives with a trigger on or near his person?

What I find hypocritical is the fact that OBL sat atop the "Most Wanted" list for almost 10 years with a "Dead or Alive" next to his name. For the entirety of that time, I do not recall one single instance where anyone questioned the "Dead" part of the "Wanted" list. If dead was not an option for some, then where was the outcry before his death?

Makes perfect sense and I believe it. In fact you really have to be reaching to come up with anything else.

This has been presumed before. I don't know why it is so difficult to believe. I have never seen such a large group taking the side of a terrorist over the Navy Seals who killed him. It is some sort of alternate reality world I am living in these days.

Is it such a stretch of the imagination to think that Osama bin Laden might have been wearing a suicide vest, or that he might even give a signal and order someone else in the room to blow up everyone. Do you think he would have wanted the US forces to take his wife and children after he was killed. They would have had some contingency plans for just such an assault and I am sure they would have put that plan in effect had our soldiers (and now I am hearing a dog!) put him down like the dirty dog he was. He gives dogs a bad name.
