Hey everyone, Colony14.net has a great Obama time-line going and I stumbled upon some interesting news there. Apparently Barack Obama never made a decision on whether or not to kill Osama and after a long wait military officials gave the go ahead. I found this pretty funny since he's spent the last couple of days gloating about "his" victory. I believe the information was leaked by Hillary and her team.

I've never heard of your source before, but I could definitely see Obama hesitating to take action, any action, since he's done it before.

The BP oil spill and Libya come to mind (not that I agree with the Libya action, but he definitely sat on his hands).

I just did a quick read through of the thread and it seemed like people were saying there was no reason to believe him/ no information about him. This doesn't necessarily mean he's not completely correct though, right? Someone compared him to Deepthroat and even though there wasn't any reason to believe what he was saying he ended up being completely correct. I'm still new here and maybe I missed something on that thread so please let me know if I did.

So I guess it's true about the president not being the highest official, looks like the President isn't in charge anymore. He's just the guy with a mouth to his ear and a teleprompter to his face.

um. no. Deep Throat's information was passing through a respected journalist at the Washington Post, who would have known if the information was reliable or just ramblings. By the time said information reached the public it had been vetted.

Anyone can blog all the B.S. they want on the Web, it's unvetted and pure fiction. You notice all his "insider information" is strictly reactionary and largely jumps on whatever anti-Obama sentiment is being circulated about in the right-wing blogosphere. Another hater cranking out fake stories.

Well since you are new it is ALWAYS prudent to vett your source as credible. If truth is on your side it can withstand great scrutiny otherwise your source will be eviscerated by astute ATS members and you will be accused of spreading disinfo which in my humble opinion you are doing right now.

Bottom line : Always consider the source.

But dont feel too bad about being accused of being a "disinfo agent" its kind of like a rite of passage. If you DONT get accused of that at some point, you arent contributing enough.

I actually figured this was theater in a political sense as well. But I figured the information came from Camp Hillary (as a lot of great information against Obama does) as an attempt to snub Obama making the message correct but the reasons behind it dishonest and politicized. Anyways, it turns out I was completely wrong as to the source and its validity so I'm going to do more research since the story sounds incredibly plausible

Lol, don't feel bad, my first post on this site was from a source that also turned out to be less than honest. The Web is a great medium for keeping us all connected but it also allows every crackpot the chance to spread dis-info and vitriol disguised as "news".

Before posting on a topic I'll research it thoroughly, Google is okay as a starting point but don't forget to screen it for hoax or bias; snopes and factcheck.org can also help in those regards.

Anyways, welcome to the site.

that everthing has to be examined

just the disinfio from the white house alone should have disqualified them as a source of everything
but you still see people using them as sources

I mean look at OBAMA's track record

one tactic for disinfo is to put good inf out through a known shill to discredit the truth
before it gets out from a quality source
