Girlfriend just made me vote for American Idol,Biggest Waste of My Time!

So,for beginners my girlfriend makes me sit and watch American Idol with her every Wednesday and Thursday which is bad enough as it is...So then tonight after it was over she wanted to get in the shower...So she made me do her voting for her..What a joke!!!...Every week I laugh at her and tell her theres better things she can be doing with her time but she still insists on making sure she gets all 50 of her votes in per contestant that she likes...And she thinks she has to do it as soon as the show is over...So tonight she made me do it!!!..Its not like I had a choice in the matter either...She could make my life Hell if I didnt do some of the stupid things she asks me to do but tonight will be the last time I will vote or even watch that waste of my life show...

If she wants to make my life hell well I guess I'll tell her to go ahead and do it...It would be better than sitting here votig for something that I could give 2 $***$ about to begin with...The thing she doesnt know is that I voted for a completely different contestant than what she told me to...I figured that the if the voting actually matters and she thinks that all of her votes didnt matter anyway,that maybe she will stop with some of the BS......This crap makes me feel like my avatar...

I guess I'm wondering if there is anyone else that is forced to watch this crap of a show then made to vote against your will? And if so,how have you come to deal with it?

She "made" you?? What kind of "man" are you?? Just kidding....I know I do things at times just to avoid conflict and arguments....watching American Idol would not be one of them though

its not even so much being trained,if i dont do what she asked ill get cut off..but maybe ill have to go without from now on or at least for awhile

No go through it and deal with the American Idol nonesense it's worth it. Just think about football or something. Who did your team draft or something like that.

I would "trade up"...sorry man but that is pathetic..

As a woman who watches it, whose husband has to occasionally sit through a couple minutes of it.. I'd say you were whipped.. My hubby is MORE than welcome to go do something else while it's on.. I don't expect him to like it OR watch it, and I sure as heck wouldn't expect him to call in and vote (i don't do it, so i guess not eh?)

I absolutely 100% positivity HATE American Idol with a passion that boils my soul!!!

I HATE mainstream music! It insults ACTUAL music...
American Idol = Mainstream Music...

I am a musician myself... I spent my free time divided between ATS and writing music...
I write metal... Melodic Dark Heavy, Metal...

This season they have had some... "metal" on it... I guess you "can" call it that

but to me Music isnt just something I listen to...

Its the core of my being... and American Idol is a direct insult to "who I am"

with that being said...

My wife has taken an interest in the show this season... and has started voting...

We have to vote outside in a certain spot... due to poor cell service where I live...

So she watched the show... and headed outside after the first episode...

I asked, "Whatca doing..."

she told me she was voting...

I got up grabbed my phone and asked... whats the number to the person your voting for...

She was surprised!!!!

I told her, I may hate the show... but since she likes it and enjoys watching it...I can stop and vote for her pick!

With the horrible service here... Its actually more of a ritual than anything...

It involves a patience and waiting... takes about 20 minutes to find the service, it changes daily lol

But its one on one time, outside under the stars
we sit in a deck chair, she lays curled up on me, and I hold her...



So I love her more than I hate American Idol and it makes her smile and makes her dance around all giddy that I actually take time to (kinda) watch the show with her... and vote with her...

So dude, I see your point... I fully do... No one hates that show more than me!!!!

but if its important to her and it makes her happy
do it

Be happy dude you got her...

Cos I know this much...
Even though I sit with my wife and watch and vote on the following shows...

*Monday's: Dancing with the Stars
*Tuesday's: The Voice (voting not began yet...)
*Wednesday's: American Idol
*Thursday's: America's Best Dance Crew

I am glad I got a wife... cos I was lonely as hell before I met my lovely wife...
She's not perfect... but she sure add's so many elements I was missing for so many years

Who did she want you to vote for and who did you actually vote for? That makes all the difference!

I find it so strange and foreign when I see couples who "make" each other do stuff! I couldn't live like that.

Same here. I have never even asked my husband to watch, he just started on his own. And he fell in love with James. No voting here, though...

James or Haley. It's a battle of the sexes in our house. I would be happy if either won. James does indeed rock. But Haley's "House of the Rising Sun" last night had me mesmerized!

hahaha the the lies guys tell to actually boost thier manhood on the internet. while all along they sit and watch all these shows such as american idol, mob wives, hollys world, ect. by choice and try and brush it off like oh my girlfrind makes me man ugh it sucks when the "guys" are around but when no one is around and its five minutes before it starts, "ooh babe its coming on hurry up." and for some reason i have a feeling gdaub is somewhat fabricating this whole scenario a bit too much... just call it a womans intuition

Omg that was perfect!!! And very very funny cause it's so true!! My husband does the same thing.. he complains about it while it's not on and to other people, but when the show's on, sometimes he gets more teary eyed than me at the emotional moments!!
