The dogs didn't act pissed when they saw it(them), so we know it isn't evil. Why it's contacting ur gurl is simply b'cos she's got a strong ESP than the rest of her family. My verdict,i'd say it's just a bored ghost with a crazy sence of humor.
And oh,don't try to contact it.very bad idea. It's only gonna mess with her mind.

I'm so busy lately (will be even more busy in a few weeks)...so I don't know how often I can get here. You can ask her if she wants to 'chat' with what ever is in the house, and if she's not afraid to do so e-mail me. I can talk to her, or you while your there at the house (my cell phone is free on weekends)

Or if shejust wants to have them move on ...

[email protected] use my e-mail incase I don't see a reply to this

Based on what I'm reading here, this looks like more than simple poltergiest activity.

The behavior attributed to the spirit(s) has some disturbing vampiric implications.

My direct experiences with such phenomena are thankfully limited, but this business of shadows is something I have seen before, and it was in connection with a being that was most definitely not benevolent.

The fact that muliple people are sensing the entity is very significant. Its fixation on your girlfriend is cause for concern, if not outright alarm.

As for how to deal with all this, that is going to vary wildly depending on a lot of factors.

porschedrifter: Has your girlfriend recently experimented with any sort of occult practices, such as Ouija boards, sances, witchcraft or the like?

Any clues as to how this entity or entities may have become attracted to her may help determine what course of action makes sense going forward.

Since the house is new, the only possibilities are these:

Something happened to the land prior to the house being built (previous graveyard etc).

There was a previous house on the site which was demolished prior to the new one being built. Something happened during the existance of this house that has imprinted the area.

There is a 'Haunted' item somewhere in the house.

Someone has been playing with a ouija board.

As Asala has already suggested, the only way to find out is to perform a detailed history of the area and ask relevant questions of the current occupiers (especially with regards the ouija board).

Text Purplewhere ins massachusetts is this house, as I live in Massachusetts.. and as far as exorcism, I highly recommend against it if in fact their is a spirit within the house. Talking to a spirit is a good idea as they usually do not understand that they are still not alive. It sounds like your g/f is psychic, as she is sensitive to emotions within the house. There could be alot of explanations as to what is occuring, such as high magnetic fields near the house.. Why don't you email me with more information and maybe I could help.. [email protected]

You may not have a "ghost", but something else...

A few questions, and maybe it'll help.

1. How old is your girlfriend?
2. How old is her little brother.
3. Did the activity start when the move was announced?
4. Does the little brother have any animosity towards his sister?
5. How about vice-versa?
6. What was on the site before the house was built? (Problem with many old graveyards, is that those who couldn't afford to be buried in them, were often buried just outside of them, back in the day...and the graves weren't exactly marked.)
7. Do the phenomena usually occur when one of them is emotional? Mad at the other, scared, etc.?

I suspect that either your girlfriend or her little brother are the source of the activity, likely triggering the poltergeist like activities you mentioned, by the pressures and worries/fears of moving on an adolescent mind...triggering some latent, and uncontrolled telekinetic ability. If this is the case, the actions will likely continue once they move, at least until the one responsible relaxes/grows up a bit... It's usually a fairly short stage (months, not years) and if this is the case, it will likely pass. The only relation to the graveyard in this instance, is simply as a reservoir of latent psi impressions, which may be being tapped by the child to power these outbursts.

Gazrok, I appologise I've been very busy and havent really had time on the comp. I will gladly answer your questions... My girlfriend is 17, her brother is about 10-11, no the activity has been going on pretty much since they moved in the house, she also has another younger sister that is 15-16, her and her sister and brother get along sometimes but they get annoyed very easily with each other, i dont know the history of the land, however the graveyard does have hedge stones, but it is very old.

Lol, Its funny that you mentioned this... She did used to live in Salem, Mass... her relatives are from there... and she visits every few holidays... she has joked about being a witch... but i know it doenst go any further than that. Also supposively her grandmas house in salem is haunted by a ghose they call "the man in the black shoes" walking black shoes have been seen around the house and heard going up and down stairs.... but i doubt that has anything to do with this... just fyi

Everyone thanks so much for your help, these are some great responses, I will discuss this with her tomorrow, unfortunately I am spending the last 3 days with her before she moves and I will be losing my girlfriend since i'm in NJ and she'll be in Mass.... sucks... but thats life!

You might want to pin this down regarding witchcraft. Even a heritage of witchcraft without direct practice can have implications.

I can assure you that if someone in this case is involved with witchcraft, it most certainly can be a factor!
