Fidel Castro says al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden is a bought-and-paid-for CIA agent who always popped up when former President George W Bush needed to scare the world, arguing that documents recently posted on the Internet prove it.

"Any time Bush would stir up fear and make a big speech, bin Laden would appear threatening people with a story about what he was going to do," Castro told state media during a meeting with a Lithuanian-born writer known for advancing conspiracy theories about world domination. "Bush never lacked for bin Laden's support. He was a subordinate."


Castro said documents posted on WikiLeaks.org — a website that recently released thousands of pages of classified documents from the Afghan war — "effectively proved he was a CIA agent." He did not elaborate.

As soon as I read the news that OBL was dead and there were people celebrating on the streets in the US, my first thought was how this would reflect well on Obama. Then it hit me, it is getting near to the elections AND we have just seen the birth certificate.

This "terrorist" has been a useful tool for being re-elected over the last decade.

The brutal corrupt communist is an excellent source for accurate information. Castro has no credibility and is just throwing around stuff for what ever reason.

Um... Even such as those do have truths to tell - and let's face it, Castro is not notorious for jumping into things and claiming untruths. Why - given the rest of the information - would he choose this matter to interject a comment?

For people that don't know. Osama's family was rich from money that came from the US federal government. The money trail leads from Bush to Osama, and there are documents to prove it.

Wow, Castro isn't scoring any diplomatic points with the Americans on this one...more like negative points. We really went too easy on the guy with out Bay of Pigs invasion, we probably should have gone preemptive nuke on Cuba when they were installing their missile silos aimed at us...oh yeah, Castro, a perfectly credible source here.

Fidel Castro built nuclear missile silos and aimed them at America, which could have potentially been far worse than what Bin Laden pulled off on 9/11/2001. We should not consider him credible, or even sane, for that reason, and in fact perhaps we should consider him a worse enemy than Bin Laden.

He has lied, yes. But not by coming out on things that don't directly affect him. It's not like he pops in on any old issue - "Hey, I bet I can prove Obama's BC is real!" He pops when he is pressed. Why would he interject on this issue? is all I am asking.

Ok, hold on here. Ruthless, I'll give you. Self-centric, yeah. Manipulative? Sure. Crazy? I have seen no evidence of. Are You sure Your words are governed by logic? Or emotional response based on the spin You've been though?

Castro is wary of the USA - and I don't think he would jump in here unless he had a bit of knowledge. And there are other corroborations. My bet is that "Tim Osman" - oh, surely something different, but just as made up - exists somewhere to his liking and is laughing his ass off.

He's not sane? For protecting his country? Really? Only if you're on the open end of the gun being pointed could you see that as insane. In fact, consider the fact that he has NOT fired on us in - how many decades? - as a sign of a sane man.

And I suspect he is more credible than Obama. Just sayin'.
