No, I read the post too. YOU read it that way because you obviously werent watching it as it played out. The media DID initially report that the raid, and the death, occurred a few days, ( on some outlets ) or " about a week ago" on the one I watched.

You clearly did not watch Sunday night.

It's unusual that there were servicemen or retired military celebrating in front of the White House? They couldn't be happy because they feel like the hard work they've been doing has paid off could they? I know my military friends were very happy.

And look at the other people who were in front of the WH, college students. At least 4 of them were friends of mine. Why is it so hard to believe that young Americans would want to celebrate the news that the terrorist who scared them so much as teenagers was killed? Your post is just ridiculous.

Soooo.. did anyone listen to Glenn Beck today? Apparently if you don't think Osama was killed Sunday you will now be refered to as "Deathers" When I heard him say that I spit my drink out. So now we have Birthers, Truthers and Deathers....Anyone else find it curious that there is always a silly name made for people who don't accept the "official story" ?

Anyway, I'm with you OP, the story just doesn't add up. Keep digging everyone, if we could have been on 9/11 immediately after it happened like ATS has been on this one, maybe it would be a whole different story today.

But honestly, how could they feel such joy, when so many of their fellow servicemen died in Iraq or Afaghanistan 'supposedly over this one guy,

and our government doesn't even allow any of you to see the reward, to justify the sacrifices?

I imagine that many U.S. service members had the facial expression of "WTF!" when it was announced that the body had been given funeral rites and buried at sea within hours.....

I posted this in another thread I started... Now that I re-read it I may have read it wrong.

Late Sunday evening, Obama said that the leader of Al Qaeda, responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks, was killed during an operation he ordered inside Pakistan a week ago.

I heard this on the news and other news websites but I am not sure now if they were saying the order was made a week ago and carried out on May 1st or the order was given and carried out a week ago....

Because it's not as if anyone has been clamoring recently for the capture or kill of Osama, particularly young people.



These people don't seem too engaged, if you know what I mean.

And just to reiterate, CNN's Ed Henry said live on-air that either the Secret Service or Bush administration staffers or both had formulated a contingency plan (ala "Mission Accomplished") for just such an on-site "impromptu" celebration if Osama was captured and evidently just ran with it in real time on Sunday.

Why would any sane operatives KILL the head of a covert enemy agency when he was unarmed?

Did he have NO information that would be useful?
How would they have known that?

Did he have information that they did NOT want revealed?

I have no idea, and I do mean NO idea, as to how you would justify his murder under an antiseptic guideline.

I dont think so. I think he is a smart guy, but overwhelmed with information. Think of how many people are throwing information at you if you are President. Tons. And you have engagements, and trips, you are running all over the place. You have to trust people. And he does.

I think this was easy for him to swallow because he, like many people, WANTED to believe it. He like the rest of us, wanted Osama caught because of 9-11. But he has extra motive for wanting to believe it. His poll numbers are low, he has had to give us nothing but bad news, he wants to get re-elected. So, this is like a miracle to him, to be the guy who got Osama?

And they are totally stroking his ego with how brave it was to give the order.

No, if he figures out he was lied to, he is going to be PISSED.

The big question I have is, if he figures out they he himself has no credible evidence and starts demanding some, will something bad happen to him.

Just posting this in case anyone here missed the following thread and wanted to take a look. If this is true, it's very strange, eh?

Robert Gates and David Petraeus were in Abbottabad last year, within walking distance of Bin Laden!

Also, has anyone here heard any reports in the MSM about OBL being taken out by one of his own rather than being captured alive? I can't find anything about it but have someone swearing to me they heard it on a news show within the last two days. If so, I suspect it was someone speculating.

I didn't believe those college kids for one second Sunday night...never could get what in the hell could they be so emotional about when

a. they apparently have no clue about 9/11, the aftermath, or our ties with OBL

b. they were in grade school or younger and didn't even understand it back then

the most problematic to me is the lack of verification....not one reporter, NATO officer, allies of the willing to comment on the death of the villian we have been chasing for ten years...

it was amazing today to watch the picture of bho and his staff glued to the tv. in the situation room...but not one pic of what they were watching....clearly there is a video somewhere of this

If you reread the whole exchange it might make sense, but it would be the third time rehashing that same line of argument and I dont want to. That specific post was for that specific person.

Someone else already posted a link and a clip of the material in question. Its not earth shaking news. Its just that the early reports spoke in such a way that made it sound as if the raid took place days before Sunday at first, then they made it clear it was earlier that day the raid took place.

The person it WAS directed too was intent on accusing the person who brought it up of trying to say that the media reported the raid days before Sunday, which is utter tosh.
