As we all know, Osama Bin Laden was announced dead yesterday (May 1st).
When most people heard this news, they started celebrating. It's all over your Facebook wall, your YouTube subscriptions, and the ATS homepage:
"Hooray! Laden's dead!".
My reaction was different. Instead of being happy about it, I started freaking out. I spent hours shaking and crying over this paranoia that has
overcome me. I finally calmed down enough to make this thread, and I hope it reaches the front page.
Now here's the problem.
Some people seem to assume that, because Laden's dead, that we're all safe now. In reality, it's the opposite. We're in more danger than ever. Just
because he's dead, doesn't mean al-Qaeda is. Laden's followers are now more ticked off than ever, and wants revenge.
And with every Facebook post, YouTube video, and ATS thread saying "Hooray! Laden's dead!", we're only making it worse for ourselves. We're just
ticking them off even more. They're looking to cut our celebration short.
Imagine this -- You come from a family that is disliked by just about everybody because your father killed a person whom you believed deserved to be
killed (just try to pretend). Then someone from their family came along and killed your father, whom you still loved very much. As mad as that already
makes you, everywhere you go there are people celebrating your dad's death. Wouldn't that make you pretty darn mad? Well that's exactly how al-Qaeda
feels.
Al-Qaeda is still out there, and it WILL seek revenge on America some way or another. And there's no way we can stop it. Don't believe that the
government can save us, because they really can't. Do you understand why I'm so scared?
If you can avoid it, I advise you stay away from airplanes and major cities. I simply cannot bare the thought of another 9/11. It's not my safety I'm
worried about, it's the lives of all American citizens -- I love you all, I would hate to see you gone.
