KGB chief ordered 4m soldiers to keep watching the skies for UFOs

Yuri Andropov, the former Soviet leader and long-time head of the KGB, had an acute personal interest in UFOs and ordered a 13-year programme that required every soldier in the military to monitor sightings over Russian territory, according to new revelations.

With the Cold War in full swing, this to me seems like a good idea. Also by watching the skies it could also give sightings of planes not visable to radar.

i remember seeing a program about that, it was to look for UFO's of a non Earthly origin.

Also they did spot alot of odd things while doing it, so say Russians who seem more open about UFO's than Europe and USA.

i think they spoted a huge UFO over one their citys.
