No, Jack, because Bush needed a bogeyman to get the Patriot Act passed and expand his war into Iraq from Afghanistan. Now that the machinations of the TSA/police state are in place and the middle east has been stirred up real good, they don't need bin Laden anymore. Barry's numbers are in the crapper, so they decided to make him our hero and give him the credit for bin Laden. Yay, Barry!

The thing that gets me is that so many ATSers are buying this off-broadway stinker because I thought as a whole, the ATS community pretty much knew that OBL was dead and forgotten. I could almost sense the collective facepalm when I logged in after hearing about this. You guys must be new to ATS - look up some old threads.

If bin laden was killed alot earlier, maybe our gov't had a reason for keeping him on ice, because they were trying to keep these people from finding out that bin laden was killed so that this would not happen right away. nuke bomb. Now what, did they ever find the bomb? Will they set it off now?

This is starting to give me some pause. I don't remember the exact date or the names involved, but it was an interview between a BBC Reporter (I believe) and a high level Al Qaeda lieutenant. The lieutenant stated that if Bin Laden was killed, they would rain "nuclear hellfire" on us on unimaginable scales. I guess we called their bluff. But right now, we've got to be on edge. Al Qaeda knows it will not be able to exist for much longer without him, the group will begin to splinter. They will attempt one more revenge attack, something big. But I have faith in the good powers in this world, and I hope and pray that our intelligence agencies are even more vigilant than ever.

But the one thing that really caught my ear was when he was talking about 9-11 and referred to the Planes that Hit the Twin Towers, and Flight 93 crashing in Shanksville. But then he said "The Plume of Smoke at The Pentagon."

I heard on CNN that they did do dna testing and that is how they knew it was him, but I want to see pictures of Bin Laden dead. I find it hard to believe without pictures.

Exactly..the only believable possibility would be he was killed about 2 days ago (even this is pushing it) but think about it, if he died a week ago, we should have heard rumors before tonight...if he died tonight well I'd find it hard to believe we DNA tested that quickly..but if he had died 2 days ago, even though pushing it, we possibly could have gotten a DNA..I say the White house needs a new speech writer. Maybe someone from here that uses their brains and knows how to sniff out conspiracies before they happen. LOL

That being said, I am quite concerned about another terror attack happening, no matter who really is the orchestrator.

I completely agree. Libya is of great concern to me as well & while I think the Taliban is pretty much gone, there are some small groups left who could really do a lot of damage if they wanted. It only takes a handfull of hateful, insane people to wipe out 1,000's of innocents. IMO, this news is a double-edged sword.

His son is a student at Harvard or Yale. I can't remember which one. I read an article about him denouncing his fathers actions. Kinda goes to show you the twits that go to those schools. There's no question they would have got a sample from him. A blood relative would give them a match.
