The Militarization of the US-Canada Border: The proposed Canada-U.S. trade and security perimeter

www.globalresearch.ca

While there are many questions surrounding the proposed Canada-U.S. trade and security perimeter agreement, the overall objectives are to secure the external and internal borders of both countries. The plan is a continuation and expansion of the Security and Prosperity Partnership agenda. In a Fortress North America, the U.S. seeks to push out its security perimeter whereby the northern border would act as another layer of security. It would be open to trade, as well as trusted travellers and labour mobility. The move towards a North American security perimeter is nothing more than a pretext f

I don't know how much this has happened or if its even still available but our province has a monopoly on auto insurance and for a time they were loading your passport info on a chip and putting that within the drivers license card (it was voluntary thank God). Then you could drive to the border and a radio frequency reader read the passport as you drove to the booth, no paper required so that the US customs officer could retrieve your info. The enhanced drivers licenses were spearheaded by the US. As it is, I gave up crossing the border because of all the Big brother BS and paranoia there now. HOMELAND INSECURITY!

As bad as this might sound, I think that this might best for Canadian interests. With the direction the States are heading, I'm sure a lot of Americans will be considering jumping ship and crossing the boarder. I think the economic situation is going to get much, much worse in a short period of time. The cost of living is going to skyrocket because the U.S. dollar isn't going to be worth spit.

Good information OP

After Americans complaining about illegals Mexicans, now it's gonna be Canadians complaining about illegal Americans.

Funny.

Yeah, seal that Northern border up because we have that HUGE problem of them Canadians crossing illegally. Forget all the Mexicans crossing everyday and other Latinos from other countries.

Who knows. It could be. I cant honestly imagine an economic crisis driving people north, only because its cheaper to be poor where its warmer. But, if they really are planning some FEMA camp action here, that could drive Americans northward.

Or...........it could be just another excuse to bilk the taxpayers out of more money for more security they dont actually need.

I think the most disturbing thing here could possibly be that the border with Canada is going to be locked down to prevent Americans from escaping or migrating northward as the situation here in the United States continues to detoriate this could be all about preventing a mass exodus, by beefing up security on both sides of the border.

Sparsely populated especially in the middle and northern portions of Canada, a lot of Americans are already thinking of relocating prior to the situation detoriating further.

Some Canadians are even already trying to capitalize on this with communes and wilderness real estate for sale.

With corrupt Mexican Law Enforcement officials and a wild west mentality, you would think international terrorists would focus more on gaining entry through Mexico to the US than Canada that shares the same TSA protocols.

This is to keep Americans in.

Oh, how nice of our politicians to deal with this issue without troubling us of our opinions on this matter .
Funny how now a days a countries sovereignty can be given up by treaty . But seeing how no one cares and how it doesn't even make the MSN I guess we are not suppose to notice , so shhhh people , let's keep it quite

There was another thread recently saying the exact opposite, that the US was trying to lax security on the Canadian border and strengthen defenses around Canada to push the NAU agenda.

It'll be interesting to see what actually happens. There are a lot of big power interests that are in direct conflict with each other right now.

You're kidding right?

Good for Canada to absorb US Policies, Laws and the coming Police State?

US citizens coming to Canada because of a failing Country is good for Canada. It brings money, skills, science, technology etc. Not to mention that the people coming here would be wanting to find what they have lost in their own Country.

Our property values rise and small business can rise because we haven't yet sold out to the US way of Corporation before entrepreneurship. At least not yet.

US and Canada joining. Give me a break!

Why open a line to allow Washington to lay hold of our resources and ideals? Our freedoms and our way of life?

This would just be a silent takeover of another nation instead of the heavy handed invasions that are typical of Washington around the World.

I welcome the American citizen, I welcome their families, children and their quest for a freedom lost...I DO NOT welcome the US NWO Agenda to my Country!

Do you want to live in a Police State? I don't.

Wait?
So where's the incentive for Canadians again?
All you said the two merge and Canada share's US's national debt, how does that benefit canadians?

You will only act as a black hole and suck Canada into bankruptcy with war on drugs, terror and whatever the next flavor is.

I don't see what your point is

Yeah but to go south means facing the cartels... and people who speak spanish... A lot of people don't speak spanish and/or are rightfully afraid of cartels.

But South Mexico is quite safe...

Canada is seen as much ``safer`` and it's economy much stronger... for now anyway.

I smell an NAU agenda here..

Just REEKS of plotting from behind closed doors,

Sooner or later, it won't matter, either "Rome" will fall, or it will be a NAU, and then later a NWO / One world government.
