The zombie apocalypse

Am I tooled up enough?

I have a 41" katana, a 150lb draw-strength re-curve crossbow wiith broadhead tips, a 12" hunter's knife with a serated back edge and a Gerber 6" gutting knife.

Bear in mind I live in England so can't buy any guns without going through a hell of a lot of official checks.

Is this enough?

Sounds like plenty for knocking off zombies.

depends if the zombies are contagious, if so youre screwed.

Nope. They will walk up the blade at bite you. You need a shotgun, explosives and napalm. Fortunately all are easily made. Youtube is your friend. Can you buy the Anarchist's cookbook there?

I would recommend a Kukhri.Preferably a large one.

Nope! A katana goes blunt within 5 strikes or so, the sharper it is the faster it goes blunt.

Zombies are the re-dead. They don't have any blood circulation so there is no blood-spatter to infect those who use blades to send them on their way.

Nope. Since we're doing another zombie thread.... Keep in mind, those broadheads, are toast. You won't be able to retrieve them. And that also becomes a distinct possibility with the serrated spine on your hunting knife, there's a chance the teeth could get stuck. and as far as your gerber... Why again would you want to gut a zombie? Just asking. And what about food, water, shelter, security??

A full kevlar (bite proof) body suit may come in handy, and theres always room for a 3 iron and cricket bat .

I guess it might be enough, I live in the U.S.A. and have enough weaponry to arm a small 3rd world country, so IMO it doesnt sound like a lot. Are ammo or firework sales restricted as well in your country? If not, that opens up a world of new ideas for you.

Fire, you gotta have some fire.

I'd advise buying some additional arrows with simple tips...nothing fancy, the arrow just has to stick in long enough/deep enough to light them up. Anything that requires ammunition is a problem given a large enough mob; one fire arrow is vastly more effective then a quiver of anything else.

Beyond that, perhaps a mace or sturdy bat.

You can never have enough options when it comes to zombies.

Remember though, cold though it may be, you are only as strong as the weakest person you take under your wing...all the survey's I've taken tell the same story...my compassion for others will be my undoing.

I'll be fine on my own, but there is always that one twit who leaves the door open while they pick flowers to lighten the mood.

As others have mentioned, body armor too.

Again, nothing fancy or elaborate is needed...got to your local sport equipment retailer and mix and match between hockey and US football gear...maybe look at a motocross back peice to keep your spine covered too.

Can't buy any of that stuff in UK without explaining to the cops why you need them.

Zombie apocalypse doesn't usually go down well with them.

"Zombie Survival Guide" actually suggests that using anything noisy just attracts more zombies. Silent is good. Noisy is bad.

Never enough!
Spare Katana, more arrows, bow strings+tools to restring
Practice and Conditioning--Its going to be a long battle Zombies need no rest feel no fatigue--
Make a Plan and share it with those you love
Some protective Riot Gear or Leathers may prove very useful although Mobility is key
A Bicycle or Motorcycle for transport through clogged streets or off road travel

The 12" knife I have is equivalent. Only trouble is: the serated back edge may make it stick in the zombie's skull on the retrieve.

I may look at a Ghurka solution to that problem.

Don't come running round my house when they're trying to chomp on your brain.

Handguns are illegal in the UK but most people can get a licence for a rifle/shotgun as long as your police check comes good.

You neeed a seperate licence for explosives as well. You also need to prove what your using the weapons for I think.

Killing zombies should be a fine excuse

Katanas are the sharpest blades on the planet. The steel is folded up to 400 times for flexibility and given a solid steel core for rigidity.
