So what's your take based on this story, drunken men leaving a pub in the dead of the night after a month of local gossip imagining they saw something too, or do you think it might be real?

Sorry.. was trying to see if it was anyone I knew.

I dunno if this incident is real, but I readily believe in the creatures themselves; although calling them "monsters" is a bit misleading.. *shrug*

I would not expect anyone to be attacked by these fellows except out of self defense. They already live among us (personal opinion with no material evidence available to back it up on ATS) and do so peacefully.

Fair enough and thanks for sharing, I personally believe many more things exist in the heavens and the earth than we are aware.

I think organized religion tend to try to supress knowledge and awareness of these things.

By the way one of the oldest definitions for a human being is "a monster" so it does get bandied about a lot when it comes to things that can walk and go bump in the night.

Thanks for sharing.

Don't know what they're drinking or smoking but I'd sure like some too sell. Could make a mint.

I bet having one at your side to go out and pick up girls would come in real handy too.

Look what my friend can do!

Can you tell us about your experiences?

For many years I lived at the very base of this mesa.
www.newmexicophotos.com...
And on a slight elavation from the river and valley floor are ruins with a Kiva directly behind my house. I used to go sit in the Kiva and "chill" in the late afternoon after I had finished work in my studio. On one occasion I was "chillin" and a man about 40, anglo, dressed in Levis and a white Tshirt appeared at the edge of the Kiva and said..."how ya doin?" startled, because he was the first ever person I had ever encountered up there..."good" I said. He turned and walked away; I got up from my prone position and looked over the edge of the kiva to see a canine dog, coyote, wolf about 50 yds away; no sign of the guy. There are logical explanations I'm sure, but I prefer the romantic one but my NA friends told me I was a lucky SOB.

Yeah... Pics or it didn't happen!

And so it was that everything prior to the Civil War in America and the invention of the Camera was striken from history for lack of pictures.

As the nation and the world approaches year 144 AC, (after camera) it still struggles to define itself having come to realize that all pre zero year history never happened.

I have pics of the civil war...

And yes, that's how it works... you know how archaeology treats all of those civilizations where what was written down was also recycled and thus lost... they act as if it didn't happen...

yes... Pics, or it didn't happen

Wow amazing story, mine is pretty similiar too, one day I came home and the shape shifter who went from a size 2 to size 10 was vanished.

This one had a lawyer though! And I am still paying for the encounter to this day!

Your story does sound a lot more romantic!

Think maybe you and Whaaa have been reading too many David Icke books, on the other hand who knows.

I have seen some pretty strange things in my life, in fact right here on ATS.

Nice find.

Pretty much displaying when it comes to some things, all we really need is that picture in our mind to know yes, they are very real!

I just finished reading a great book, kind of weighty, it was about a dog his name was spot, and he was friends with dick and jane!

Anyway I don't want to spoil it in case you haven't read it yet, but this dog spot, he runs, he runs a lot!

What does David Icke write about?

This is what happens when you see spot run.

I'm just a little confused. The OP refers to the story on this page which is dated 2011-04-25 22:44. On this page is a link to the original story here which is just a list of links but leads to this page which is the original story dated 2011-04-22 10:41. The confusion is above when the other thread was from a month ago. Yet when you go to the link provided above for this thread it was posted posted on 22-4-2011 @ 11:37 PM which coincides with the story linked by the OP and is linked above dated on the same day. wheres the report from a month ago? To me its only 3 days. Now the original page is linked to this page which is another link page and links to this story which is a story of reported "signal flares" supposed to be ufos dated 2008-07-06 21:30 and has no mention of the "Monster" and as there is a 3 year separation no connection is shown. Yet connected by links to continue the story by the "reputable" news source. Where is the connection? This is why I personally question this source. When doing a search the results for this "monster" go to multiple locations on the web but are reported almost word for word from the original post at 24news. There are no other sources.

Now as I have come to understand through out history there have been reports of shape shifters and skin walkers but that is a topic for Cryptozoology but on this topic there is a report under the comments on this page that states...

AjaxFiko - 2 hours ago Report comment White people can be so ignorant, I reside in Cape Town, Philippi and last year around June/July there were 3 incidents where it was spotted, an eye witness with bruises even appeared on the local Vukani paper. . .it struck three times, once in Gugs and twice in Lower-Xroads. . . According to the first eye-witness it appeared as a pack of dogs and then appeared to be a single (unusually) large dog) with multiple heads and then tried to attach the guy, the scratching his face and body and ripping his clothes. . .the guy then pretended to be dead so it sniffed and sniffed and then disappeared as a single dog. Something IS out there. . .and it's moving around, I don't have to see it to believe it. I'm taken aback to find out this sort of news made it to News24, Big-ups Mr Editor! 6 3

The problem with this report is that the poster states he had bruises but explains that the attacked was scratched in the face. So which is it bruises or scratches? Either way no real damage was done and I don't think its intent was not to harm but to frighten IF it actually occurred. There are also reports of this type of activity here in this PDF in another location.

Legend has it that a monster resides in the pool at its base.
The Dumbe Mountain that is.

Does this creature exist? I do not know as I have not seen it and no pictures have been released. Do I believe it is possible that a creature as such exists? Yes there are too many reports and legends in this order to simply say they don't. Is THIS one real? I personally do not think so as it is an election year and sinse there are no reports of true injury tourism has risen.

This is some pretty good comedy.
If reporters are this hard up for stories, there are pubs everywhere, what a wealth of material.
The best stuff happens after closing or for the real juicy stories go to the guys under the bridge who are not even allowed in the drinking dens for lack of hygene. These guys will talk your ear off if they think it will get them breakfast ...err a bottle of vodka I mean.
Then there is the time honored tradition that goes way back millenia saying be nice to strangers, they could be angels.
For people across varied cultures and times to believe such a statement in itself speaks of where "shapeshifting" folklore originated.

I think the poster mentioning the other thread in Cryptozoology might have been confused about the date it was posted.

The search I did yielding on the keywords in this article didn't yield any results though so I thought it would make a great alternative news story.

I do appreciate very much you adding some of the additional background and lore to this creature.

I hope that straightens out some of the confusion.

Thanks.

Wow, you know how is it I can stumble into a conspiracy anywhere?

I find it incredibly circumspect that after recently authoring a thread about the US Government using sock puppets to attack American citizens online www.abovetopsecret.com... detailing the use of HB Gary Software that can award multiple stars and thumbs to sock puppet personas that my somewhat witty and humurous posts in this fluff piece thread have been so loved by regular members to rack up the stars being placed on them.

They really are just 'responses' to thank people for posting in a thread on a subject that there isn't a whole lot of information about for in depth posts.

Maybe I am wrong and the humor in them has some value worth such starring, but I don't think so.

I smell a conspiracy in the brewing, and while it's an off topic comment to be sure, does anyone else besides me think it's 'unusual' my posts to this thread are being so heavily starred?

If I didn't know better I would swear someone is starring these posts for entirely different reasons than they enjoy them.

I don't find it unusual at all.
You have made some epic threads and got a following whether you might realize it or not.
Maybe it is just a show of respect whether warranted or not??

Nah I don't buy it, my serious posts on my 'epic' threads don't get so many stars.

More strange occurences are happening, Dimensional Detective has been stripped of the WATS List leaving me in number one as of today.

The starring on this thread makes no sense.

I smell a conspiracy afoot, could it be Dimensional Detective has shape shifted into me?
