In 1968 Neil Dimumd was looking to try some 'pot' for the first time. The only dealer he knew was empty but he had a bag full of sativa leaves. After
a few bowls, sinse everyone else seemed to be getting something from it but he, Neil disappeared, guitar in hand, and watched his 'friends' while
sitting on a rock, in the darkness. They were sitting around the campfire and everyone was laughing and acting all different and stuff. Perhaps they
were laughing at him? Neil came back to the fire and performed a new composition on his guitar. Half of the group burst into uproarious laughter; the
others groaned with shouts of incredulity. Then he asked the girls to do the chorus. Soon after this, his date left with another guy, taking the
Lowenbrau they'd brought with them. My confidential source remembers looking at Neil's red eyes during the bridge and mouthing 'ARE YOU SERIOUS?' It
was 1968, the year of Neil's 'the pot smokers song'. Some of the lyrics of the final cut came from real pot addicts. I used to shoot heroin in my
spine, indeed.
Later, someone turned him on to some real buds, but sinse nobody knew that pollination weakened the affects of the 'pot' until 1970 or so, the bowl he
was using kept sparking and exploding with seed bursts. The result was 'cracklin' rosie'. Eventually he lucked in to some real mary jane, without
seeds. That's when 'sweet caroline' was released.
It was all downhill, after this.
Then, in 1976, cops raided his house and found an entire ounce of the deadly anti-carcinogen. A plea deal was struck and Neil swore to never do it
again.
You heard it here first. Thought I'd get it out since the end seems near.
