If I had known at the time it was happening that I would get to come back to the life I knew, I would have used the opportunity to explore more. I'm actually glad that I at least had my mind together enough to go look for actual photos of the person's life there, as well as scan some of her memories while I had access to them. And also, I wonder why it had even popped into my mind that this was the life that would have happened for me if I hadn't married my first husband. I mean, who jumps to that so quickly? But at the time it was a firm declaration, not a question at all.

About people who have gone crazy....you know...that makes me think of something my younger brother said to me years later after this happened. He, unfortunately, got into some things he probably shouldn't have and landed himself on the psych ward at a hospital for awhile. When we were talking about it later, I did ask him what he thought was happening to him while he was there. And he said that it was like his mind no longer had the ability to discern what we all *think* is reality and what *is* reality.

The things I remember he said during his stay in the hospital did seem to fit in with that. One time he was talking about his time in the Civil War. One time he called me from the hospital to ask if I remembered the year 1715. "Wasn't that soooo fun?" And one of the hardest for me, was when my mom called me and said I had to come visit him at the hospital immediately because he was upset that I had committed suicide because of him.

None of that made any sense to me, but adding the possibility of alternative/parallel realities to the mix.....

Hmmmm...

Its funny but I've often wondered, too, if I haven't died many times and was shifted to another time line so you are not alone in wondering about that.

I was driving one sunny afternoon on my way back to my office from lunch. I don't recall exactly what I was doing whether it was glancing up in the rear view mirror or down at my speed or staring at something roadside. What I do recall is looking back at the road and noticing the line of traffic had come to a quick stop at a red light. There were about 5-7 cars in front of me and I was doing 55mph. When I realized the traffic had stopped I was one car length from the stopped car in front of me. I squeezed the wheel, scrunched my face and shoulders and said "OH SH**" In those split seconds I said a prayer for myself and praying I would not kill another person.

I waited for the impact and it never came with me still scrunched in a braced-for-crash position. Everything was sort of silent and then as my ears began to notice a fade in of sounds, all I heard was cars whizzing by. I slowly opened my eyes and released my steering wheel grip and looked around. I was sitting in the small grassy median between the north and south bound lanes which was about 2 car widths, completely stopped. I was dazed and confused as to how I got there with NO recollection of a crash or anything. There is NO WAY I could have avoided a stopped car in front of me only a few feet and me going 55 mph.

I slowly creeped out onto the road and went back to work. I never thought about checking or noticed any time changes of how long I'd been there or anything like that. I'm positive I died that day and was transported to a parallel universe.
Oh how I'm sure we'd all love to see a 3rd party view of a videotape of what happens to us in these situations.

My Timeline has Eraser as being released in 1996 but I remember another movie that this happened to me with at roughly the same time. Oh for the life of me I can't remember which one it was but it bugged me for awhile anyways. Thanks for the other links as I find this topic fascinating.

yea..I know this is what the timeline 'says' it was released, but I know for a fact that I saw it in 2k, this subject is really really interesting .. since very similar experiences are occurring over and over.. such as car accidents, should have died & never wrecked.

What a great story OP.

I had something strange happen today. I was working at home on a report for work. I had a deadline of 12pm & was just about finished when I checked the clock on the computer which read: 11:38. Great...just enough time to finish up this paragraph, spell check & send it off.

Next thing I know, I glance down at the clcok on the computer & it says 12:22! WHAT THE HECK?? I hadn't even made much progress on my paragraph.

I was very, very confused. And still am.

Well, while it could be defined as residual, it also seems to generate new sights as well. It's like, not only can you see the room, you can see through it if you want, or you can see only the darkness. Some experiences are really difficult to convey.

Very interesting thread, all this talk about time slips but especially dying and picking up where you left off in another dimension is nearly identical to a theory I had two years ago.

Spring 2009 I took a fall that could have killed me had I landed wrong, instead I was just sore for a few weeks, not even a broken bone. Afterwards I joked to a friend that I most likely died and my consciousness hitched a ride with the me of another dimension. no one would know as that night played out differently there it's just that that me would get a little bit better, a karmic boost if you're into that sort of thing since I died trying to help someone.

It was around three am and my neighbors house was on fire, from what I could tell no one was awake, no fire trucks, nothing so I ran to their back deck and was banging on windows trying to wake them up. I was going from window to window and then the next I know I'm lying on my back at the bottom of their cellar way, my feet were about four steps up and my shoulder blades were on top of the drain. Their deck was having work done to it and the railing had been removed, I fell about fifteen feet on my back onto cement stairs, I thought I was in trouble. Long story short I stood right up and for lack of a better term I walked it off.

The comment about dying got some conversations going and that's all it was intended to do as I didn't believe it and I still don't think I do but this thread has got me curious. There's been two significant changes to my life since then, the first is I haven't been sick since, February just three months prior to the fall was the last time to be precise and I was sick twice a year on schedule my whole life, usually once in Spring and once if the Fall. The important thing though is it was around that time that I decided to get serious about these notes I had been accumulating for years and finally sat down and started writing my novel, there's been some ups and downs obviously but fast forward to today and I'm almost finished.

Not as jarring as some of the other stories but something changed for me around that time and for the better. Probably not related but like I said this thread got me thinking about it.

I find this discussion as a whole to be quite interesting.I have also had the feeling that I had died on several occasions.
The one Timeslip I have encountered was quite a few years ago. I was living about 45 miles from a job that I had. The reason was because I enjoyed living in a small town but needed big city pay. I would get up and hit the road around 5:00 am. I used quite a few back roads because I could drive much faster without worrying about getting a ticket. One stretch of road is almost 18 miles long and strait as an arrow. That stretch ended in a small town that only had one stop sign. I remember turning onto the road and getting my car up to about 70mph. I quite literally BLINKED and found myself sitting at the stop sign. I would guess that normally it would take about 12 minutes to travel that distance. I didn't check to see the time at that point but I did arrive at work a bit early.
I always thougt it was strange but it seems to be much more common than I thought

This is really interesting, had several times that I should have died but one that really sticks out for me. don't know if this is the place to tell about the experiences or if there is some other thread I should use (if someone would be interested).

Well, after the experience I can tell something is different anyway, colours are not what they used to be, smells are not the same, I'm not quite the same, something is different but I like it

Of course this is the thread to tell about it!

Okay, I'll try to explain this last experience..

It was the day after new years eve and I had been partyin pretty much the last two weeks, anyway to make this easy I took a pretty bad overdose and ended up getting a ambulance ride to the hospital. This is where things got really interesting (terryfing at the time though). I literally felt that i was dying, and I felt how my heart stopped beating, I saw how the "monitors" stopped giving any signals. I knew i was dead, I saw my own funeral and so on. Then "kablam" I woke up at the hospital and just a few hours had gone by.
They said nothing was wrong with me that I was really lucky. Anyway I been writing this of as a psychosis but after this I been feeling "different". Colours are not the same, smells smell sort of different, well, small changes but something feels different (not only the fact that I'm clean now).

Maybe I died this day and my soul moved on to another universe, maybe aliens used this as a cover up (would explain some of the things I saw before "the funeral"), maybe I died lots of time earlier(I know I should have), maybe I just had a psychosis, lot's of maybes but I find it interesting

(And for those interested, since this time I haven't done any drugs besides alcohol and life is perfect)

I have had same experience twiceNot going in detail, i had two strange experiences, and i got crazy with the strange feeling of being some where else once and time escape once, later i found that itsFirst Stage of epilepsy

I am sure you wont be driving that time or your mind was pasting some one else(live) in that car and you were watching some one else, rahter than the one who was actually sitting in the car, In short its mental Malfunction, stay away from pain killers and prozac

Ok I have read some awesome experiences on here but just wanted to make note of something that is intriguing me
Epilepsy is the greek word meaning " To seize" well are we actually seizing moments in another dimension? Epilepsy is stated as involving episodic abnormal electrical activity in the brain. It is also said that epilepsy more likely occurs in children and people over the age of 65. Could it be that children are more succeptable of this type of icident due to the fact that their brains are more non corrupted by the happenings of the world around us? And as people get older the mind can deteriorate tending to lead to these incidents???
Just a thought but for instance in the case of one or more people being together at the same time that they can become electrically attuned and feel the same type of incident that has happened?

This is a totally wierd idea, but I thought about it when I read your account, as well as the other poster, who talked of a similar event, in which they were heading for a potential accident when the "slip" happened?

Me and my family have had such events happen twice, one in which we lost two hours, one which was approx. 10 minutes. In the second one, we were on a plane, that started to have trouble coming onto landing. Everyone was panicking. Then "bloop" it was quiet and we were landing normally. My son and I (he was 17 at the time) looked at each other and asked each other if we dreamed what just happened? What DID just happen? When did the problems smooth out and everyone calm down? We didn't see the transition, either of us.

When the plane came to a stop, he said, "Mom, I think we died." And we began to explore the possibility that perhaps, we don't ever experience dying! Perhaps our consciousness just steps out before a trauma and moves to an alternate universe or reality, so similar to the one we were in, we don't know what happened. Even in an alternate reality, everyone we know could have "dopplegangers" that we continue our relations with - even if one version of them is crying for our loss in another!

This is referred to as "Quantum Imortality." We never actually experience dying because our consciousness only "chooses" realities in which we don't...or something like that

The other time it happened, we drove into a sudden wall of fog, so it could have been possible we hit another car or something.

I'm not saying I believe this to be true, I don't have any beliefs, but the hypothesis has always intrigued me since then! How many times could I have died and not know it??

I have always thought the same thing. And we go to another alternate reality that is literally mili seconds after. But I think it's a flawed "theory" because if we don't ever experience dying, then how is it we still get constantly older? It would mean eventually I will be 2578390 years old some where

I have thought this for a long time, that when we die we simply jump to another reality and continue un-fazed. However I only believe this happens for deaths 'before our time'. For example if this is the way the universe works then it would have been working this way for thousands of years before all the man made developments that cause 'accidental death'. If we all lived peacefully and in harmony with each other the major cause of death would be due to natural causes, and I believe in this case that yes we die. If however it is something unnatural, such as a plane crash or car crash then we slip unto an alternate reality until it is our time. If that makes sense?

Just remembered that I don't seem to have any symptoms of my allergy (pollen allergy think that is the same word as in swedish, well the stuff that comes from trees
). Another thing that is different nowadays (in this dimension perhaps).

And as some users before me have been saying, maybe the mind just "walks on" to another dimension..That is a fascinating thought.

I think I had a time slip today. I wake up, it's 7:36am, I know this because I looked at the digital alarm clock, flew out of bed because i had over slept. By the time I was ready it was 8:10am, by the clock on the wall & the digital alarm clock sitting on the wife's night stand; grab a cup of coffee, which was already ready, check the clock again and it's 8:15am..

Go out the the car, start it, walk back in, wipe my glasses off, walk back out to the car, it's 8:25am by the clock in the car and it's correct, always. My wife drives us to an Arco which takes 15 mins to get there, which s/b about 8:40am, where I'll catch a ride with my friend & my wife will continue on to our daughters house.

I catch a ride with my friend, we go BACK to his house which is only 5mins away, across the overpass, hang a left, go down 3 blocks and your there. We spend ANOTHER, 15mins gathering stuff and head out, I check the clock in the car, and I'm getting a tad worried because we need to be there no later than 9:30am, it's 9;05am~! it takes 25-30mins to get there and it takes my wife a full 30mins ONE way to get to our daughters house!!

Me and my friend end up at our destination, and I see .my wife is already there....but kinda seemed odd, which I thought she should be since she dropped me off at the Arco and I took another 15mins at my friend house.

We walk inside and I check the clock fully expecting it to say .. 9:30am at least~!...........I was totally shocked and confused~!! It s/b 9:25/30 MINIMUM~~!! The clock is at .........9:15am~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was WT*~!! I pull out my cell phone and it's 9:16am~!!!!!!!!!!

Some how we all gained like 15mins?? ~!!!!! but that is odd is ..my wife should have NOT been there since she had to take another 15 mins to get from her daughters house and pick her up and then leave to get to the destination~!!

So I mention to her, how did you get here before us?? She said.. I got here 10mins before you did~!

How is this even possible ?? ?

OK, need to track this thread and what is actually happening on my end of all this time-slipping..

Tuesday, May17th, 2011
My wife & I had left the near the same time as listed above, because we were asked to help set up tables and needed to be at the facility at 9am. However, we did NOT pick up her daughter, cutting, approx., 20mins OFF our time which would bring us even earlier than last week....

we left at 8:05am, stopped to pick up a quick mocha (2min wait), drove up to McDonald's drive thru, with no one in line, ordered a lg drink, nothing else, no one in line ahead of us, gave them $1, drove up, got the drink and we're back on the road in about 1min, MAX.

We took the same route, as always because it's the fastest, no traffic ahead of us, and we arrived......at 9am~! Nearly a FULL HOUR~!!
