NSA releases 29 messages from space?

The document doesn't specify the mode of communication. I think they found a pattern and they are analyzing it like a language for fun. Or analyzing non-living data with lingustic algorythms to see what they find.

I think disclosure has already happened. You just have to find it. They have plenty of things like this just out there in the open. One just has to find it.

So I'm not sure why people is thinking this is about real Alien communications when its clear is all part of a exercise?

this was released in oct 2004 it looks like, about 6 1/2 years ago.
If it was legit everyone would be in the know by now and it would have been desiphered

Yeah this came to mind as well, that story was QUICKLY swept under the rug. I never got a chance to read up more on that story to see if it was an unknown message in an unknown language or just a glitchy system on the fritz.

If this story has already been covered and debunked sorry for the repost guys... Should it turn out this is just an excercise and not anything real I may have just experienced the worst case of mental blue balls EVER!!!

Term "extraterrestrial intelligence" is so vague that it could mean proccesses of the universe rather than language between entities.

I think he's referring to the word "test" that I overlooked. One COULD say that's to throw people off. Sprinkle a piece of disinformation in with reality and people pass on the whole... just like if you have a thanksgiving feast, but find a piece of poop in the turkey, you're likely to pass on the meal altogether. But I won't go that deep into conspiracy theory.

I think it odd that the Mercury probe is named Messenger...they say it stands for a long bunch of words but clearly the name emplys something don't you think..

interesting..the messages here, appear to look like binary numbers and codes, or some kinda wrid messed up computer writting language*

It may hold some clues for any one willing to try. I have seen this NSA one before, would prefer more background one the messages before trying. It is a shame they cut message 1 short as well, might be important to place the other messages in context.

MSNBC Report from last year about the weird signals from Voyager 2. I think someone from NASA said that the computer on board was at the end of its life, and that the signals were just bits of broken code or something like that. What I do find interesting, however, is that the Voyager 2 was only supposed to transmit back data on its health and status, and it seems that it was transmitting more than it was supposed to.

I meant that when the NSA talks seriously about ET they are talking about information content in technology or maybe in fluxuating phenomena like pulsars or weather patterns.
For instance a gasoline engine has intelligence in it (its design) that converts chemical energy into mechanical energy.

I don't think real ETs could get here unless they were 1 million to 1 billion years ahead of us evolutionarily, and would not need to care about us in any way.

So if a real ET story happens, it is probably a signal to start a eco-socio-political change.
