I've heard of shadow people, but has anyone seen a shadow animal?

My 2 year old was waking up a few nights a week; sometimes screaming for me from his bedroom. One night, my wife was putting him to bed, and she would sit by his car bed with the lights out and sing him to sleep.

He woke up crying, pointed to the corner and said "animal". She said she didn't see anything, but he repeated it a few times and started REALLY bawling and pointing. I came into the room wondering what was going on, and he was crying, screaming and pointing.

I asked him, was it a bird? "no bird daddy", was it a doggy "no doggy daddy", was it a bear "bear daddy!".

My wife and I were kinda nervous so I said a prayer and told this "thing" you are not welcome in my home, you will leave this place in Jesus' name.

He hasn't had the experience since then and sleeps in his room now... anyone else seen a shadow animal?

I have seen shadow jack rabbits. They would appear in my headlights, seem kinda translucent, run for a ways, veer off and disappear.

I was up all night delivering the newspaper on a rural route.

Absolutely, we see lots of animals, primarily cats though. Rabbits and dogs too. They may seem frightening but they really aren't. As with all things paranormal/supernatural, just go on about your business or then offer them a warm welcome. They won't trouble you in any way if you simply treat them as though they too belong there. As in our realm, negativity breeds negativity. Learn to be very present and conscious in your reactions and greet everything strange or unsettling with warmth and sincere hospitality. They will do you no harm and in return, you end up a better and bigger person. Pretty good training, for free!

All things can be seen as opportunities for improvement. Open your heart and your mind.

Yes, well, when my two year old screams his lungs out because he is petrified I don't think I'll greet what is there nicely.

You seem to know about these things. What are they?

My oldest granddaughter and I see shadow animals often. Different sizes, but nothing greater than the size of a groundhog. They move rather quickly. They don't seem to be harmful. They just pass by quickly and seem to not even notice us.

my mom, once saw a small shadowy figure darting around in the corner of her eye in our driveway, i thought it might be a cat, when my grandparents lived there they had two cats, now both deceased, there were some activities in my house, my birds wil freak out for no reason, and my (living)cats will run around and chase bascialy nothing

I must admit that I have never questioned what they or anything else I come across might be, I simply greet them with an open, welcoming heart and they ask when they need something. My daughter is clairvoyant and usually tells me when she sees one particularly fearful or otherwise troubled. We work with it for a while and it eventually goes on its merry way.

I can tell you that you parents can calm your son over this. Explain to him that the bear likes him and wants to be friends, that it isn't there to hurt him and cannot hurt him. It truly can not. It will become scarier though unless you take measures to change the emotional emissions from your son. He too can choose his reactions. He need not feel fear, but boys tend to be more fearful than girls, so teach him already now to face things with curiosity and warmth rather than fear and dread. Tell him the bear is there to guard him and keep him safe all night. It will be so. The beliefs of children are strong.

BigBrotherBear,

I'm going to have to reiterate CosmicEgg's sentiments. While the Shadow People are one thing, Shadow Animals, on the other hand, seem to be there as protectors and bearers of life lessons. The bear in particular is there as a foreshadowing of life lessons (from my knowledge of animal spirit guides). Is your child potty training or learning how to do other such things? Sometimes these shadow animals appear out of fear for a life lesson. They are there to shock and awe, but in the end, they are only there to help. It's almost a form of tough love.

I know how hard it is to see your child scared half to death of something that it doesn't understand, and being the parent that has to deal with it, but there are valuable lessons to be learned here. If this happens again, have your spouse take your child into another room, and try and communicate with the animal. Explain in a rational manner that it is scaring your child, and that if it is truly there to protect, to do it in a non-intrusive way. That's about the best advice I can give you.

I hope that helps.

Peace be with you.

Yes I do, quite often actually. It is strange as I've only seen shadow people a couple of times, and it was quite some time ago. Since moving into our present home in 2007, I see what I am assuming are cats as they are about that size and quite fast - always out of the corner of my eye. When I turn to look, there is nothing there. Except for one time, when I saw it square on and it looked ready to pounce, although not toward me. When I took a step toward it, it appeared to look back at me, lunged away from me toward a corner and was gone in an instant.

I have no idea what they are or where they come from and I cannot see details, just a dark shape which is why I cannot say for certain that it is a cat. I have no fear of them, although they are a bit unsettling when they enter your peripheral view and you are the only one home!

actually when I was about four or five I used to see a shadow fox in my apartment. It never hurt anybody or gave me a negative vibe, all it did was look at me with its purple eyes run around in a circle and burn and all that was left was ashes.

Just recently I was driving at night and had a shadow bird fly THROUGH my car. Not in front of it, or around it. I passed directly through the engine compartment.

Not my only encounter, but my most recent, and definitely the most clear.

I've seen a shadow squirrel. It was in my backyard, and as it scurried away, I heard the leaves crackling and saw them moving on it's path. It was very creepy!

I will say you can. I have never seen a shadow anything but have seen other things. My wife sees shadow people and animals. The animals she sees are wolves or large dogs. These show themselves to her when we are hiking. She sees them running through the trees. She is not frightened by these entities but seeing the human forms creep her out. I would'nt worry about what your daughter sees. She is just more intuitive.

I've seen a shadow cat around here often. Like I think its my cat at my feet, then look down and there's no cat. Has happened a lot but not in the last few months strangely.

The shadow people have pets. Mostly dogs, but cats too...and ferrets! OK, maybe not ferrets, but I've seen many of their puppies.

Greetings.
I found this thread via Google search. I read in some replies that shadow animals are not like shadow people, because they are harmless. However, I have saw a shadow person with red eyes look at me, turn and take three steps, and then change into a large shadow dog with the same eyes. The dog leaped behind a tree, escaping my view. I am confused. Does anyone know how this can be possible if they are both very different in nature (good vs evil)?
