Honestly, if you wanted to be free, the country should have been founded on Geneocracy, not any political form of government. Even Anarchy is better than this! Anarchy is simply denying establishment of a government.

What happens when you form a government, ruled by a very few, like a PYRAMID SCHEME, & everyone who is in office rubs elbows behind the scenes, & let's religious overtones haunt their AGENDA?

YOU GET A GREEDY TOTALITARIAN GOVERNMENT.

We did this to ourselves. We sat around & let a bunch of old idiots make all the decisions for us. I propose Geneocracy, where only the above average intelligence can make the decisions, after being voted upon by another group of intelligent citizens. That way this form of "government" would be peaceful & have good intentions.

But also, with all these heinous laws being passed & violation of our rights, there is MONEY TO BE MADE signed by us & cashed by THE POWERS THAT BE.

The American Dream
April 21, 2011

Do you know people that still believe that America is a free country? Do you have friends or family that are proud to live in “the land of the free and the home of the brave”? If you do, just show them this article. The things that you are about to read are enough to make the blood of any red-blooded American boil. We don’t live in a free country anymore. Instead, we live in a “Big Brother” police state control grid that is becoming more restrictive every single day. Most of our politicians seem to be control freaks that are obsessed with running every single little detail of our lives. These days there has to be a “rule” or a “regulation” for everything. The radical social engineers in the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany and communist China never even dared to try some of the things that are going on in America today. We are all being treated little better than cattle and we are all being taught that it is best to just sit in our homes and absorb all of the television “programming” that is being provided for us. Meanwhile, our public schools have become little more than prison grids. Our children are being taught to enjoy living as docile slaves in a world where imagination, liberty, freedom and adventure are all greatly discouraged.

Unfortunately, none of this is an exaggeration. Our politicians love to give speeches about “liberty” and “freedom”, but they always seem to have excuses to justify the endless parade of liberty-killing laws that they are imposing on all the rest of us.

Almost all of the freedoms listed in the Bill of Rights have been severely eroded. In fact, a number of them are almost totally gone at this point.

The things that you are about to read should make you mad. In fact, if none of these things make you mad there is a problem. Sadly, millions of Americans have actually embraced tyranny, and if you are not outraged by any of the items listed below than you are likely one of them.

The following are 10 examples that show that we no longer live in the land of the free and the home of the brave….

#1 According to the ACLU, state police in Michigan are using “extraction devices” to download data from the cellphones of motorists that they pull over. This is taking place even if those pulled over are not accused of doing anything wrong.

The following is how an article on CNET News describes the capabilities of these “extraction devices”….

The devices, sold by a company called Cellebrite, can download text messages, photos, video, and even GPS data from most brands of cell phones. The handheld machines have various interfaces to work with different models and can even bypass security passwords and access some information.

#2 In the state of New York, the Department of Health has designated wiffle ball, dodge ball, kick ball, freeze tag, red rover, frisbee tossing and tug of war as “risky recreational activities“. Any organization or program that allows kids to enjoy these games during the summer will now be subject to strict government regulation a ccording to the New York Daily News….

Under the new rules, any program that offers two or more organized recreational activities – with at least one of them on the risky list – is deemed a summer camp and subject to state regulation.

#3 At one public school in the Chicago area, children have been banned from bringing their lunches from home. Yes, you read that correctly. Students at that particular school are absolutely prohibited from bringing lunches from home. Instead, it is mandatory that they eat the food that the school cafeteria serves.

#4 Would you like to have your face scanned and your ID recorded every time you attend a public event? Don’t laugh. The San Francisco Entertainment Commission is actually proposing a new rule which “would require all venues with an occupancy of over 100 people to record the faces of all patrons and employees and scan their ID’s for storage in a database which they must hand over to law enforcement on request.”

#5 In Delaware, police and state government officials recently tore a basketball hoop right out of a family’s front yard and carted it away because it was “too close” to the street. They even extracted the pole for the basketball hoop out of the ground and took that away too.

#6 In Missouri of all places, two young girls named Abigail and Caitlin Mills were recently taught a lesson on how to be good citizens in the emerging totalitarian control grid going up all over the United States. After a complaint from a neighbor, the city of Hazelwood cracked down on the two girls and told them that they must stop selling girl scout cookies in their own front yard.

#7 As I have written about previously, federal bureaucrats have outlawed the incandescent light bulbs that we all grew up with and will be forcing us to switch over to new CFL (compact fluorescent lamp) light bulbs that are more expensive and that are actually worse for the environment. One new study conducted by scientists in Germany has shown that the new CFL light bulbs that we are being forced to use contain poisonous carcinogens that are likely cause cancer. In fact, the German scientists say that these CFL bulbs should be “kept as far away as possible from the human environment”.

#8 Many states are aggressively seizing “unclaimed” safe deposit boxes and are selling off the contents and using the money to pay state government bills. In the state of California, they are now going after safe deposit boxes if the owners have had “no contact” with the bank for just 3 years. Other states are being nearly as aggressive. If you have a safe deposit box that you have not opened in a while you need to go check on it right away.

#9 One Mississippi state judge recently issued an order for state officials to gather and deliver to him the names of every single child that is being homeschooled in the state. The frightening thing is that the judge did this all on his own. Nobody requested this information and there is no case pending for which this information would be required.

#10 The TSA had promised that they were going to stop groping little children at airports, but apparently that is not the case. For example, one 6 year old little girl made headlines recently when a TSA worker touched all of her private areas before allowing her to get on an airplane. Her parents were forced to stand aside and watch this outrage take place.

So what do all of you think about this list?

Does anyone out there still believe that we live in the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Feel free to leave a comment with your opinion below….

I love this quote by Marilyn Manson:

I am so All-American, I'll sell you suicide.
I am totalitarian, Ive got abortions in my eyes.
I hate the hater, I'd rape the raper.
I am the animal who will not be himself.

Hey victim, should I black your eyes again.
Hey victim, you are the one who put the stick in my hand.
I am the ism, my hates a prism.
Let's just kill everyone & your god sort them out."

People in America complain because we aren't free, however, we willing gave ourselves to them. WW3 is a silent war. It is a war against the people. They don't want us to be free, because that means no control over the future. xo

Orwell had it wrong.

Even he could not imagine the American Police State as it is today. And it's only getting started.

I have one thing to say to the US citizens...Get out now before it's too late and the walls go up around the entire Country.

While I find the outrages extremely egregious and applaud you for pointing them out. I cannot in good conscience give a star or flag due to lack of personal content from the OP.

The beat goes on my friends. So, when is enough? When do we stand up and say "YOU HAVE GONE TOO FAR"? When do we do something aside from bemoaning our loss of liberty? Where is the line in the sand?

The home of the Brave. You have to at least be brave to still be here. Knowing full well the possibilities that could arise at any moment. Brave with a sense of adventure. Or ignorant looking for a means to an end. Then there's just plain trapped and/or oblivious too. Either way this ain't no place for kids anymore.

You didn't put any text in your OP girl ? That's what this place is all about.
What you think should be there in 2 paragraphs or more. That's how you spark debate. Don't be shy, speak.

I HATE those CFL's!! They give me headaches!

And if they break it's really bad.

They are filled with mercury, which when broken will fill a room with more toxic vapors than you can safely tolerate. Learn more: www.naturalnews.com...

ohh and

But many do not know of the extreme EMF (electro magnetic frequencies) radiation from the dirty electricity these CFLs produce. The resultant EMF is the same type of radio frequency pollution that we've been warned about from cell phones and towers, portable phones, WiFi computers, and high power wires or high voltage transformers outside your house or office. Great article!! S&F Thanks for sharing!!

You really should not believe everything you read on the internet, the basketball hoops were NOT removed from private property, they were illegally installed on council land. If they were not removed the council would be liable to be sued if they resulted in a accident.

???????????? Irish people were sunk by horrible business practices, property bubble, ridiculous banking , loans credit cards etc been giving to people that cannot pay back, the banks were so ridiculously close to the property developers, who are now mostly all bankrupt, they are transferring their assets to their wives to escape them being taken from them, the government then decided to guarantee the banks thus bankrupting our country.
The politicians were getting back handers and brown envelopes, they guaranteed the banks without even a thought to what the people wanted.
All this by Mr Cowen who wasnt even voted into Dail but given the position by the none other than mr backhander himself, Bertie.
The result?
IMF bailout that we can not afford to pay back.
This is the land of the imf now. There are no jobs, huge unemployment, emigration on the rise, and the general public had no say whatsoever in any of the decisions made.
Sure we even voted no to Lisbon and we were forced to revote because tptb didnt like us saying no.
This country is an absolute joke.
I want to gtfo of this country and am working toward that end now.
I really really hope your post was lighthearted sarcasm.
Regards

Very scary stuff. It is galling that this sort of thing is going on in the US.

I read a book awhile back that is essential reading for this sort of stuff: Nanny State: How Food Fascists, Teetotaling Do-Gooders, Priggish Moralists, and other Boneheaded Bureaucrats are Turning America into a Nation of Children
by David Harsanyi

It will blow your socks off. But again, where is the outrage? Where are the civil libertarians in the US?

Every intelligent American needs to question the following: NOW

Under the administration of President Reagan, a protocal was established for a Shadow goverment to take control in the event of a nuclear attack or other world catastrophe if the existing goverment was destroyed.
This Shadow goverment would be wisked away to a undisclosed underground location upon a eminent threat.
The purpose of the Shadow goverment would be to command our remaining armed forces, nuclear weapons and to continue democracy as we know it. Now ask yourself this my fellow Americans; How would a underground goverment maintain civil order among the survivors without troops? I believe it would be prudent to say, that there will not be room to house ten's of thousands of troops within these bunkers. So how does this Shadow goverment intend to maintain civil order? The answer of course is Top Secret, but the question it's self is frightning! It can (only) be that our tax dollars are being spent on secret ways to control the population should anarchy or civil war become reality. Do you all want the Second Ammendment repealed now?

I would say that I hate my country's government and can't wait to see it burn but then I would end up on a list somewhere as well as being labeled an Anti Government Extremist or worse yet......the "T" word.

So, I for one welcome our new totolitarian overlords. If there is any way I may be of assistance please let me know.

Because this is ATS, of course the general user-base seems to draw an instantaneous connection between all of these events and try to make it out that there is both A: a unified, organized push by 'government' to have absolute control and B: A complete lack of will in the population.

I think the answer is a little more interesting than something out of a Dan Brown novel.

The government isn't as dissociative as we'd like it to be. The TSA is a direct response to public outcry over events like 9/11 and other aircraft-related hijackings/bombings. We demanded better oversight by the government, did we not? Now we get upset with the government and attribute it to some dominatrix when the perfectly human TSA worker can't resist coping a feel. Similarly, it's part of a big-government plan when a TSA worker in his early 20s joins out of the ideal of protecting people (most of us youngin's are pretty idealistic) and further gets pumped up by training speeches and power-points (though power-points tend to be counter-productive... no one knows how to use them to be effective these days) - then gets put in a position of authority and responsibility and has very little clue how to actually handle the world that is not ideal.

Similarly, we have demanded the federal government handle things like our retirement and senior medical care. Start talking about getting rid of the two greatest budgetary expenses in the federal budget (Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security) - and -everyone- starts walking on eggshells. We talk about being free - but we don't have the gall to take up responsibility for our own future (retirement and the like). At the end of the day, when we encounter something we didn't prepare for, personally - we expect the government to take care of it. That's the basic logic behind social security and medicare/medicaid.

Am I not right?

The problem is not that government is out of control. The problem is that people do not know where to separate government and personal responsibility. Take most of the cited examples coming from state-level issues; judges stepping outside of their authority, cities confiscating basket-ball hoops (really, that one has to be looked at from a local level - most cities have restrictions that don't allow you to put trees too close to utility poles or roads, that sort of thing - and people decide to put things in some pretty dumb places, too - the details are in that one)... it is merely an instance where the actions of one particular segment of the government walks the line (or steps over it).

The very fact that there are people upset about these things means that the government is not completely 'out of control' and people are not completely without a will or 'spine.'

What we truly need to worry about, from a liberty standpoint, is how many people are slaves to economic debt? How many people could quit their job due to poor treatment or working conditions, and have enough money saved in the bank to pay for six months of expenses while they search for a new job?

Why is it that people feel 'enslaved' by their employers these days? Because they have enslaved themselves to debt, and are -not- free to seek gainful employment. This begins a far more troubling process in government and society to demonize business and those who are successful.

Now, we are in a similar situation with government. We have allowed ourselves to become so dependent upon the government that we are terrified of an existence without the security we feel it offers - and therefor we feel enslaved to it and have become resentful, choosing to demonize government.

We are, effectively, no different than the people who have enslaved themselves to debt and are afraid to change their employment status/career for fear of losing everything they own. Likewise - we are afraid to make changes to the government because we are afraid it will cost us what we currently have. We project this feeling of enslavement onto "shadow governments" , Cabals, "the government" and other entities that are characterized with omnipotence and maliciousness. We feel so defeated because, on some level, we realize how afraid we are of the changes necessary to rid ourselves of the offending factors of our government. It is all some "master plan" - the trappings of our own irresponsibility can almost always be blamed on one power or another. Be it God (or the lack thereof), or some political ploy.

That's not to say there are not power-plays and plots out there... just that we tend to overlook the real problem that lies within and project that problem in a sort of "connect the dots" game of subjective analysis.
