Israel supplied arms to Argentina during Falklands war

So what if Israel supplied arms to Argentina! I am British and can't believe how hypocritical we are over arms sales. Is this the same UK and USA that supplied and trained the Khmer Rouge?

What about the USA supplying arms to Germany in WW2, Iran and Iraq. It's not about what is right or wrong it's about money, end of!

When war was declared over the Falklands/Malvinas I was about 17 and still brainwashed by the media, all gungho and nationalistic. Since growing up and travelling, including much covered territory in Argentina as well as most of South America, I have come to realise that the war was about the potential for oil which was suspected (and now confirmed) in the area.

To be honest, in my view, the islands should be given back to their rightful owner and that is Argentina, as how would the British feel if Argentina made claim to the 'Channel Islands' or Isle of Man? Or to the Florida Keys (example for our US cousins)?

Funny how every topic on Israel has the same people coming out of the woodwork to shout about Israels evil in land grabbing but are very quiet when it comes to the UK doing the exactly the same? Please at least hold yourselves up to the same standard!

And for those who still don't quite get it, policies of countries are not the result of having Conservative or Labour governments, Thatcher or Blair, they are all the same! Thatcher did as she was told, just like Blair, Bush and Obama. They are all owned by TPTB/Illuminati and represent them, not us!

Israel, Argentina, UK and USA do what their masters want!

Well, if memory serves a couple of other countries helped defeat dear old Adolf... but if you raise that point, how many Jewish refugees died because the Brits didn't let them come into Israel after the war?

Also, what I wrote in my original post was that while it was true that the Brits were instrumental in helping found the Jewish state here, they also caused trouble. That was my point... gave you several examples of the ways the caused problems to the Jewish people... you want to see that as me saying they didn't do anything, you're more than welcome.

Actually you will find it was Britain alone that took up to Hitler to begin with.

Russia retreated, scorched earth and the Americans stayed out of it for a long time. Italy sided with Germany as did Japan and some other countries.

It was Britain alone who stood up to him.

So yes it was thanks to Britain alone that Israel exists today, get over it.

And stop whinging and whining because Britain didn't give you everything you wanted. If you had your way we should have supplied all your food and drink and bought every Jew a car and a flat screen tv and if we didn't we would be anti semite

[In a previous reply I stated that the US of A supplied night vision equipment to the Argie Marine snipers and went so far as to allow ex USMC snipers to operate against we Brits. Not for the first time, either!

Nobody came out of the Falkland Island campaign with unbloodied hands, least of all France and America, although America did somewhat attempt to wash their dirty hands by supplying us Brits with up to date intel - a sort of playing both ends against the middle. [Nothing new there, then!]

As for the gentleman who said we should return the islands to the Argentinians - err, actually, they never really owned them. Please see the link below:

Whilst i agree with everything you posted, you stated that Argentina never really owned them and supplied a link which stated the following:

In 1820 Argentina claimed sovereignty over 'Islas Malvinas'. claiming right of succession to Spain and relying on the papal bull of 1493 and the 1494 Treaty of Tordesillas. The Argentine government employed American Daniel Jewitt of 'Heroina' to take possession of the Islands and assert Argentine sovereignty against the many sealing and whaling vessels of various nationalities which were using the Islands as a base for their activities. On 6 November Jewitt took formal possession at Port Soledad, planting the Argentine flag and firing a salute of 21 guns.

I don't want to argue about semantics however, the Argentinian claim is more valid than the british as the Islands are off the coast of Argentina and not the UK. Hong Kong was once ruled by the British but it doesn't make it any less Chinese, does it?

Yes those arms they provided extended the war to 5 minutes instead of the original 4 minutes it was supposed to take.
