Nanny State Gone Wild

www.infowars.com

A shocking acceleration of the nanny state in recent months confirms that the government has launched a total takeover of society under the pretext of keeping everyone safe, when in reality the move is a calculated coup d’état against individuality and is designed to oppress and enslave the American people.
- A school in Chicago has banned parents from giving their children packed lunches, forcing kids to eat in the cafeteria in order to “protect students from the potential for unhealthy

These developments represent a total power grab on behalf of the federal government as it bids to become the supreme authority over Americans from cradle to grave. This is about a complete transformation and re-engineering of society.

i would like to point out, is the very fact that we are indeed living some strange times, and we are also seeing our rights and liberties under attack.

The end result? No one knows~

What do people expect when they demand the government provide cradle to grave support? They have become our defacto parents and are simply exercising the parental controls WE (most of us) have demanded.

A government big enough to give you everything is big enough to take everything away. Government is way out of control imo; yet many liberals, including many here on this site, want to cede even more power control and authority to the state. I cannot fathom the thought processes of such people.

I can't help but think that these kinds of laws and policies will have unintended consequences.
The more they do this kind of nonsense the more people's toes are going to get stepped on.
So just keep stepping on toes. Maybe enough people will wake up to say bugger off.

I dont see it that way. I see the slippery slope argument, that this could lead to all kinds of horrors of the state dictating what people will do for their own benefit, but I see them trying to protect children from their ignorant, uneducated parents by requiring they eat at least one semi decent meal a day. Im renting in a working class neighborhood, having moved here from a middle to upper middle class neighborhood. The difference in what people buy at the grocery store is striking. Crap. Soda, chips, processed and sugared everything. Swill. Not a green veggie in sight.

We have lots of laws protecting children from their parents, so I dont see this as a big stretch. And we have laws mandating education, which probably at one time caused a big stir too, in terms of parents rights. They often have dress codes, and rules against weapons, etc. They should have the right to say what is and is not allowed on campus. Maybe it would have been preferable to make a list of banned foods, (or a list of required foods) but enforcement would have been a nightmare.

As I see it, its a shame on the people that they are so inadequate as parents someone actually felt the need to step in.

They create their own "extremists" when they do this.

Somebody pokes me in the arm everyday for 30 years and when I finally turn around and punch him it's my fault and everybody around acts shocked and amazed that I did what I did.

Yeah the unintended consequence of our "nannying" is that more stupid people grow up to reproduce themselves, and then vote.

Thereby ensuring that no future parent bothers to step up their game because hey, they aint gotsta.

Cushioning the blow just encourages more jumping.

I dont disagree. Maybe we should just let the children of those who reproduce without the means and intelligence to care for their children meet whatever fate nature intended for them. The problem with that is that the middle class doesnt want to deal with the consequences of that course of action, which is packs of uneducated hungry poor people stalking and killing them for their stuff.

Social programs directly help the poor and lowest classes, but indirectly, they benefit the middle and upper classes by keeping the "savages" at bay.

Maybe.

But it would also maintain the illusion that the middle class is safe and secure. They wont deal with savages because they never have before. Rather than look at their own habits, lifestyles, willingness to defend, they'll pass the buck to some service or other authority and blame it for "dropping the ball" rather than face the reality that nothing can protect them from anything except themselves.

You get middle class college kids walking through bad neighborhoods on the way back from the bar at 2AM with earbuds blasting and the world is shocked and horrified when something bad happens.

Exactly. For a government so concerned about fighting so called "terrorists", they sure do a good job of possibly creating a large number of them on the domestic front.

Unless that was the plan all along

Well the bag lunch that contains the evil fruit that brought down mankind and forced him to be removed from the garden of eve. It is satin worshipping I tell ya.

But I never knew bag lunches were the true power of world control. I must make note of that in my diabolical plan to take over the world.

And while they fight the evil terrorists, are southern borders are wide open for not only terrorist actions, but drug cartels to proclaim war?

The coup d' etat happened when Kennedy was Assassinated in 1962, we have been inslaved since our boss got the right to take our taxes out of our check. It is just that most people still don't know.

Couldn't agree with you more. The moment LBJ got sworn in, is the day that Unconstitutional welfare programs became the new need for funding. It went down hill from there. They figured out how to remove the boss, and impose their agenda.

Just sound like an excuse to screw more money out the parents.

Anyone know the price of an average school lunch in America?
