I never remember my dreams, but last night (or rather early this morning) I had a "dream-within-a-dream". It was one of the weirdest things I've ever experienced, and I don't know what to make of it. Okay, here goes:
-----------------------

I was outside somewhere, it looked familiar I guess, but I can't for the life of me figure out exactly where on earth I was. I was with other people, but I can't remember who - it could have been my wife, our kids, some friends, random strangers.... I don't know. I can't even remember what we were doing.

All of a sudden, a feeling of deja vu came over me, and a large shadow appeared over us. I looked up, and saw a very large, rectangular shaped object (as large as the mother ships in alien-type movies, but not saucer-shaped) was moving across the sky, then abruptly turned around and went back in the opposite direction very quickly.

As soon as the large object was out of sight, there were suddenly dozens upon dozens of airplanes dropping like flies out of the sky, all following in the wake of the large object. To describe it a little better, It was like the large object came in from the left, then when it made it's U-turn and exited back the way it came, it dragged all the planes back out with it, kind of like all the homes we saw being dragged along with the tsunami last month.

Here's where the dream gets weird. As the planes were falling, I looked again to the direction they were coming from, and saw one coming right down on top of us, about to crush us. I awoke screaming..... or so I thought.

After I awoke screaming, I noticed my wife wasn't in bed with me. I went downstairs to find out where she was, and our front door was open. I ran outside to see my wife and all our neighbors looking up to the sky, at which point I saw the same large object coming in from one direction, then making a U-turn and heading back the other way very quickly.

Once again, dozens of planes followed, falling exactly the same way they had in the dream I thought I had just woken up from. I again looked up to see a plane coming down on top of us, and this time I woke up for real, not screaming, but I awoke with a start, and I was in a bit of a cold sweat.

-----------------------
Since I've never been the kind of person to remember my dreams, I have no idea how to interpret them. I'm hoping I can find some insight here.

Thanks for listening.

a dream inside a dream. very interesting.

"To dream that you are dreaming, signifies your emotional state. You are excessively worried and fearful about a situation or circumstance that you are going through. Dreaming that you are dreaming also serves as a layer of protection from what you are feeling. The dream within a dream allows you to experience certain difficult feelings that may otherwise be too painful to confront if you were directly dreaming the scenario. "

A Dream Within A Dream

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

lol

I wish it was that simple, then I could blame Lou Diamond Philips for the way I feel today.

It's like the weird feeling you get when you experience deja vu. I don't know how many people feel deja vu, but every time I get that feeling, it sticks with me for a few days, and until it goes away everything feels a little off. I've been trying to concentrate on what I have to do all day, but my mind keeps going back to this dream over and over.

Those dreams inside a dream are the weirdest yeah ^^ and definitely stick with you for a couple of hours/days.
and maybe the spaceships that will visit us one day will be pyramid-shaped...hence you seeing rectangulars, instead of saucers...hmm...that would explain all the pyramids all over the place
Also...wasn't a plane hitting a house the theme in that movie Donnie Darko?...hmm...sorry...just riffing a little...check this out: blog.piperenterprises.com...
...Maybe the dream does have more meaning than usual dreams, thx for sharing

I used to be so afraid of flying because of that movie! If anything you dream sounds like a cool scene in a movie. I wouldn't stress it, could be a past life experience - Deju vu moments are very interesting, I've been places and done things that gave me that feeling and it is very overwhelming, like you've been to this place but you know in your head that you haven't but still can't shake the feeling. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the support, ATSers, I appreciate it. It's good to know I'm not alone. And thanks for dude69 for the interesting link. I read a few of the replies on there, and they all seem to have the same theme - planes falling and hitting the ground a short distance from the dreamer.

I'm a little freaked out that none of them seem to dream about the plane hitting them, though. It's always a few hundred yards that-a-way.

Has anyone on here experienced either a dream where the plane falls on them, or a dream-within-a-dream?

The dream inside of a dream, could also indicate a premonition as what you dreamed was also what transpired once you woke from the first dream.
The Alien ships could indicate a higher power or influence that will come to stop an event that will happen in the world, if the planes are military then it could mean some enlightened people will intervene in a military action ,
the fact the the plane is falling towards you may indicate innocent bystanders will suffer in the event.
but as you saw it in the dream first, you will have a chance to keep away from the event, the fact you woke into the same event and the plane was coming at you was to reinforce the fact that if people dont heap the warnings they will suffer.
but thats just my interpretation

you need to look at your own analysis of the symbols and what you see them as and then thread them into the frame work , as only you can truly know what each symbol means to you.
the dream
the UFOs
the planes

hope this helps

sorry if my first post wasnt what you were looking for , its just the first thing to enter my mind, and sometimes the first thing is the most important.
and this link is to common symbols and there meanings in dreams

and heres a link to someone who dreamed they actually got hit by the plane
