Former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson said today he is running for president in 2012.Johnson, a Republican who was governor from 1995 to 2003, made his announcement on the steps of the State House in Concord, N.H. On Twitter a short while ago.Johnson has libertarian views and is perhaps best known for his efforts to legalize marijuana and for cutting New Mexico's budget and taxes. He's been traveling to early presidential contest states such as Iowa and New Hampshire talking about the nation's debt and U.S. involvement in Afghanistan and Libya.

He's not gonna win the election. Obviously the guy most related to all the other presidents is gonna win...

He is a "Republican" that supports abortion and legalized marijuana. He has about zero chance of gettting the Republican nomination.

That leaves him as an independent...and he is hardly known outside of NM or some very hard care libertarian circles.

I'm calling this one way early...no chance.

I would hope that just his running for president would bring more attention to the positive aspects of marijuana legalization. Currently the most dangerous aspect of smoking marijuana isn't the health aspects, but getting caught and it's a shame. I believe TPTB are afraid of the altered conciousness that drugs enable and they are desperately trying to keep us in his manufactured reality as long as possible.

Not picking on you op but I find it queer how folks take so much interest in Marijuana matters but give little to no attention about other issues.

I lived in NM during Gov. Garys administration and then he was a right wing nutcase. His young wife must have turned him on in more ways than one to get him to "see the Light" as it were.

I agree OS....no chance

I could be wrong but I believe he intended queer in this definition:
•curious: beyond or deviating from the usual or expected
www.google.com...

Maybe the poster is from another country where they don't know the word queer as in reference to what you say. Similar to an Englishman calling a cigarette a FAG.

I wouldn't take it personally.

I'm not here to argue with you, but he/she did not call you a queer. You can argue that a queer is a queer here in America, but to those of us who are educated in vocabulary (and American I might add) realize that this wasn't intended to be an insult to you.

While I agree with you on issues regarding the legalization of marijuana, I cannot fault the poster for offering that insight.

you use the term queer very freely!..should find different words to express yourself... queer has generally meant "strange", "unusual", or "out of alignment". It might refer to something suspicious or "not quite right", or to a person with mild derangement or who exhibits socially inappropriate behaviour. The expression "in Queer Street" was used in the UK as of the 1811 edition of Francis Grose's A Classical Dictionary ....get high on life not drugs
