we must have been on the same rant around the same time yesterday! im not religous and think the majority of the major religons have been perverted and tainted by the human mind. however this man is a problem. not olny to this country but to the civilians who will be caught in bombing,shoot outs,and skirimish with the US armed focrces. if this guy is serious then he is crazy and needs to be locked away and given some help with his confused views on how to "lead his flock". my guess is that he is feed money to keep up the tension between people and keep them at each others throats. its a shame that this mans voice gets herd over there. given a chance id love to give my story to the people across the world and show them that i may live on US soil but i am strongly aginst anything that the people in power are doing in my name. i wish to live my life how ever long or short it may be. im just sick of all the division and tension i see on every level of life. there is alot of talk bout an awakening or revloution comming soon on here. where is it people? cause you cant always look to others to make something happend. someitmes you need to do it your self. get this guy some help if he is just misguided. if he is dead set in his ways or is being paid or told to act this way....then string him up along with the people who paid him/told him to do this.

I understand what you have written, but some of the posters here have a hard time comprehending and understanding implications, not to mention English. They allow their emotions to override their rational and jump to erroneous conclusions, and this is a hate filled thread.

Anyway. the results of Jones actions may have repercussions far beyond what anyone can imagine. I just hope people will recognize him for what he is and stop using his actions as an excuse to harm others. There's enough hate and stupidity in the world without stirring it up any more.

Jury Reaches Verdict In Terry Jones Dearborn Case

DEARBORN, Mich. -- A jury decided Friday that Florida pastor Terry Jones must pay a so-called "peace" bond ahead of his planned demonstration outside a Dearborn mosque.

The jury decided Jones is responsible for all security and policing costs that would accompany a protest in front of the Islamic Center of America.

After not posting their $1 bail bonds, Jones and his associate pastor were escorted to jail. District Judge Mark Somers said Jones and his associate would stay in Wayne County jail until posting bond.

Be warned that the next time you want to exercise your rights that it does not come at the cost of a "Peace Bond". There might not be anyone left to stand up for you when that happens though, we will probably all be in jail for not paying our "Peace Bond".

The solution is not to attempt to stifle his voice, but to show support for the Muslims whom he would protest against with a counter rally of even larger numbers in support of the Mosque.

You know, I was with you 100% until I remembered that the entire point of this "protest" was that it be an ARMED protest. There is no reason for that. If he truly wanted to excercise his freedom of speech as it stands, then the guns had nothing to do with it. That was an obvious provocation and for what? Protest all he wants, but gathering a crowd of armed citizens to do it is a little more lynch mobby.

Honestly, I'm not sure if I was or wasn't....(onboard with the freedom of speech argument) from the start. It was obvious to me from the start that this poor excuse for a pastor's sole purpose was to incite a volatile and potentially life-threatening situation, armed rally notwithstanding. With that said, we have gone to WAR for less reason than that, to fight against such things. So I'm not sure, to me, it falls into the same category even.

I am not saying I was with Jones up until anything, just that I agreed with that post until I remembered what Jones was all about. The only thing that bothers me is that it puts me in the position of deciding what his intentions "really" were and punishing him accordingly. It is not that far of a stretch for me to see a precident such as that go downhill really fast. Predetermining underlying intentions seems like a dangerous rope to walk. Luckily Jones talks alot and made it clear that this was to be armed so he kind of gave up the need for any such consideration and reminded us what a useless attention whore he really is anyway. Just sayin, it touches on some difficult issues here when the guns do not get included.

This is exactly the reason that I said I'm not sure if I'm onboard with the idea of "freedom of speech" in the case of Jones or not. For exactly your reasons, it puts me personally in the hotseat of judging the terms of free speech.... it's tough.

I didnt attend MU though i did make some serious cash being a "lab fish" of sorts they were really interested in my gills.... alias the english language and the keyboards are becomming more and more alien to me so my english,typing,and spelling and gramer may go down hill as i reach maturity. my scales itch with anxiety wating for the day i can join my real people in the dark green abyss.......

LOL, I think there was a bit more to the Crusades than "getting rich and famous". In fact, I'll go so far as to say that neither of those two elements even entered the equation.

In the 1300's life was exponentially different than now, religion was EVERYTHING, dissenters were tantamount to witches, and Muslims were infidels.

The reason I originally went here was because of the strange jet noises and rumbling sounds being heard all around the world, including my own area in Idaho next to the Canadian border. That site was recently taken down on the home page list even though it had 58 pages and counting. Why? I think anybody would consider this a 'hot topic'; apparently ATS didn't. Instead we get forums about Lady Gaga's latest publicity stunt. Obviously ATS thought Lady Caca was more important than the mystery noises. I emailed ATS about above subject, but received no reply.

The Apple Iphone was just found to have the ability to record personal information which is readily accessable to the authorities. NBC news had this story two days ago, and the internet is full of sites regarding this topic. Why is this subject not considered a hot topic and not in the contents list on the home page? Actually it's listed, but I challenge anybody to find it. Obviously ATS buried it for a reason; IS APPLE AN ADVERTISER? Makes me wonder. Is this an example where the bottom line of finance is more important than the spirit of ATS? Or are the owners just "out of it"?

I also find the manners and mentality of a large number of people posting to be lacking. Personal insults seem to take precedent over real information sharing in a spirit of basic civility.

Don't be so sensitive, it happens, it's the public... you can't proactively censor what people will be saying. This would be the antithesis of what you claim to be fighting against in the first place.

DEARBORN, Mich. -- Florida Pastor Terry Jones is headed out of town, but only for a week before coming back to protest in Dearborn next Friday.

Jones said Saturday at Detroit Metro Airport that he would be back next week to protest, and that the court proceedings were a direct violation of his constitutional rights.

Jones said this morning that he will not be protesting at the mosque now but rather in front of Dearborn City Hall.

So it looks like he has hightailed it out of town, good riddance and hopefully he won't be back.

He is stating that his constitutional rights have been violated because the city of Dearborn wants him to pay for all cost involved.

He is wrong, most cities across our country do the same thing if they so choose.

All I hope, is that he simply melts away into obscurity, and that no one tries to or succeeds in killing him (which it is inevitable that someone will try).

I absolutely do NOT want anyone making a martyr out of this moron.

This man is endangering his family's life, and he is still going strong balls to the wall with his rhetoric. He wants to jump something off, he is already responsible for 11 UN members being killed. How many more people does he want dead before he is made a martyr for the Christian crusade? This man is manic and psychotic!
