It was not long ago that Trump was talking like an Obama supporter. Now he is suddenly a Birther and a Republican Candidate. Which one is the true Trump? I think my title says most of what I'm thinking.

Is he a plant to make those opposed to Obama look like idiots? Is his real purpose to help Obama get elected? Seems like a good possibility to me.

It seems like something Obama and his people are capable of. Honesty is not a big deal to Obama as we have seen hours of videos of him lying or taking both sides of one issue. I'd not be surprised if the whole thing is a set-up.

With Obama being a Chicago style crook and Trump being a glory hound capable of most anything for money, am I out of line thinking this might be true? Obama is buying votes like crazy, so why would it not make sense for him to plant a false candidate to screw up the other side?

After all, he has in the past done things like having children chanting his praise in school just like Chairman Mao. I'd not put anything past him. He has showered the Unions with money to buy votes. He has handed out way over 200 exemptions from the new Health Care Laws to Unions and Companies that support him.

What do you all think?

No, he realized all he had to do was pander to the insane for votes. He is a whore.

Trump is an opportunist.

Two things will come of his recent activity.

1) He will get publicity
2) He will get richer

Both are 100% what you should expect of Trump.

I really think you are missing Trump's point.

Besides, it's not like we have had any luck with real politicians.

I know Trump is not the guy.

He has more issues than a magazine rack.

I do hope he stays around until the debates.

We need to "Fire" everyone from the Dog Catcher to the President.

Yes, but is he also betting Obama will win and behind the scenes working for him? I agree about Trump, but it could be more nefarious than just getting face time. He might even be doing it on his own to Obama's advantage if he is a supporter.

I find the whole thing really odd.

Interesting thought actually. Why now is he suddenly going full force against Obama when Trump himself probably couldn't win anyway.

I under-thought this before I posted my first comment.

He could easily drive people too Obama. Obama and his minions have been trying to paint anyone opposed to him as Racists and Loons. Who knows what kind of things he is up too, or what his people would do to make sure he wins?

Trump's insanity does tend to make it look like Obama's lies might be true. The vote could come down to a really close call this time. This stuff happening now could determine the winner. Planting the idea that his opponents are nuts and bigots is certainly an expected tactic he has used all along.

It's been troubling me for a week now and I wondered about others thoughts. Thanks for considering it. I don't know if this is possible, but seems so to me.

That is why I think this is not beyond something he would do. You might be right though. Just throwing the idea out there.

I think that there is more to the story with Trump going after Obama on the birther issue. He is just too smart to lead with that as part of his bid for the presidency. Most moderate/independent voters are not birthers. The populist vote is not birther. I don't know what, but there is something more to the story between Obama and Trump.

I think Trump is too stupid to even know what he believes.

He begins and ends all of his interviews with birther crap and offers no substance as far as economics are concerned.

He's a great business man, I'll give him that, but his stances on things would have us going to war more often than if you were to create a man from the genes of Obama and Bush together.

Those are the same sort of thoughts that lead to this thread. Wondered if I was alone in this.

dnc plant i am not so sure

i do know that he has supported democrats in the past including obama and schummer, etc

i also know he has made various campaign contributions over the past the the left.

in every trump thread on this website i have been saying the same things over and over again hoping someone will listen and open their eyes.

trump is nothing like what he is trying to get people to think he is.

he has got so many people hoodwinked its not funny trump has got one political attribute down pat.

just tell the people what they want to here doesn't matter if he himself believes it or not.

the is coming from a republican and i am tired of r.i.n.o.s

Publicity?

Trump is an attention whore of the highest magnitude.

It pisses me off that we're dealing with very grave economic problems and all while we have a deficit of leadership in the White house(and congress) and we have to contend, on top of everything else, with this moron shouting out the substantive debate we should be having with frequently disproved conspiracy BS.

Is he a shill for the DNC? Maybe, but I doubt it. I think it is more reasonable to assume he's a misinformed idiot who has no idea about how things really work outside of the world of Trump.

It most certainly is strange and I don't think for a moment anything he does is not for a reason. Could be publicity, but it just does not feel that way to me. I do remember him supporting Obama and praising his actions. Truly odd.

Maybe the economy is so bad even Trump can't steal.

If he ran as an Independent he could put Obama right back in Office.

Whatever the reason, Trump will parlay it into millions.

This is a very sad time for all of us. Which liar and thief is better?

I may be about to prove myself wrong here and that Trump is just an opportunist as some have suggested.

Donald Trumps Donations

In all, Trump has contributed to 96 candidates running for federal political office since the 1990 election cycle, the Center finds. Only 48 of the recipients — exactly half — were Republicans at the time they received their contribution...

...Since the 1990 election cycle, the top 10 recipients of Trump’s political contributions number six Democrats and four Republicans.

I'm betting the answer lies in what he thinks would benefit him the most financially. Could it be a promise was made by a representative of Obama's or the DNC?

True, but would he perhaps do the same if promised something that benefits him. What I mean is, would he do this to help Obama based on some promise of favors beneficial to him. Not that big of a stretch from being an obvious panderer. What better way than what he is doing?
