Last night I watched a helicopter fly over my neighborhood. I was in the car parked in the field with my boyfriend and I noticed the helicopter flying over each block for 45 minutes I estimate 6 blocks. It was strange. I don't understand what's going on but I'm paying more attention for sure so I can be prepared.

Did this helicopter have a very bright searchlight? If so, it was probably a police 'copter chasing down the bad guys.

Don't worry about it.

It's the 160th SOAR (Nightstalkers) and the helos you're seeing are MH-60 Blackhawks, MH/AH-6 Littlebirds, and CH-47 Chinooks. They were in Washington some time ago conducting urban and domestic training, nobody knows exactly why, but I'll be the first to admit when they were in Washington I nearly pissed myself..

Thought I was about to be rounded up and sent to a camp... Not a joking matter.

Anyway, it will eventually come out in the news.

This is a training operation by the looks of it. The 60's are simulating what looks like fast rope and Rappelling, using OGE power for a brief time over the buildings in the video. Wish I could have done that type of training in downtown Miami, flying between real buildings . I can see the value in this type of training, it's better than hovering wood towers.

Nothing but training going on here. I can see why this training is so much needed. Any of you guys Air Assault? Ever get hung up on the repell? There is not much room for me to take that 60 down and left and put the soldier safely on the roof if at all. So would it be better to cut the rope, continue the mission, and have the rest repell out the other door, or abort the mission, and carry the soldier to the nearest safest LZ where I can perform the maneuver safely ?

Nothing sinister going on. These civilian agencies need to know this kind of stuff. Some will forget it by next week anyway, but some will pay attention and it will save a life. The 160th are also trained to train, If that makes sense to anyone. I myself am retired now, wife made me, the hours and travel were unreal at times. Army aviation is not a regular job to say the least, but has its rewards.

Great video op, if anyone messed up the OGE maneuver over the building, the army will know from this very video. I'm sure someone in the command is looking at it to see how the training is going.

I have been seeing many Black unmarked blackhawks flying over my house for weeks now, its always the same all black with black windows and no markings flying over either one at a time or in formation. Its always going from west to east. I live on long island near BHL Brookhaven national labs, and they seem to be going in that direction. I just strange since its never been like this for the past 15 years I lived here.
