This is a training operation by the looks of it. The 60's are simulating what looks like fast rope and Rappelling, using OGE power for a brief time
over the buildings in the video. Wish I could have done that type of training in downtown Miami, flying between real buildings . I can see the value
in this type of training, it's better than hovering wood towers.
Nothing but training going on here. I can see why this training is so much needed. Any of you guys Air Assault? Ever get hung up on the repell?
There is not much room for me to take that 60 down and left and put the soldier safely on the roof if at all. So would it be better to cut the
rope, continue the mission, and have the rest repell out the other door, or abort the mission, and carry the soldier to the nearest safest LZ where I
can perform the maneuver safely ?
Nothing sinister going on. These civilian agencies need to know this kind of stuff. Some will forget it by next week anyway, but some will pay
attention and it will save a life. The 160th are also trained to train, If that makes sense to anyone. I myself am retired now, wife made me, the
hours and travel were unreal at times. Army aviation is not a regular job to say the least, but has its rewards.
Great video op, if anyone messed up the OGE maneuver over the building, the army will know from this very video. I'm sure someone in the command is
looking at it to see how the training is going.
