I'd add an 11th which is Obama's Bible of sorts. He taught courses in it. You should add that "Rules for Radicals" may in the end cause as much damage as any other.

I see you mention "The Prince" in that list and Alinsky cites it in the start of his book if I recall.

I believe that Modern translation bibles and the Koran also belong on that list. Not attacking either of those religions, but they have been used for evil, a lot.

If you say it's neither of those books faults for how people misused them, that same logic can apply to all those books.

Ladytrick pointed out your deception. You lifted the entire OP from another site with no mention or reference to it and passed it off as your own. This in my opinion is wrong on many levels.

A few replies later you you apologised to her, but to no one else. You just let it sit.

Then you compounded your ruse.

One minute later you quickly added another post pointing in another direction entirely, which appears to me to have been an attempt to detour attention from this plagiarized post. It seems to have worked for you as no one else that I could find on the thread mentioned your original ruse. Maybe others here are more forgiving , but I must say that I am insulted.

I'm curious to hear, what damage has the Harry Potter series done?

I remember a story with too much emphasis on good morals, abstract questions about the afterlife, and themes of magic in general. Nothing questionable there, in my opinion.

That's not that far off from how some people who read the bible felt. No one attacked your book, just the people who abused it.

Alot of the religous books take alot of heat, but most teach positive morals, unfortunately they also can teach some bad, and some people can twist the good to inspire people to fight an evil fight in the name of good.
As far as screwing up the world goes, I do see how some can say the bible or koran, but I am not sure we can blame the message in the book over the idiots who try twist those messages into something evil. Nor do I feel there is intent in those two books to cause harm to society, unlike something like mien kampf.
I havn't read much of any of the books of the major religions, but I see no difference than someone on this site who watches a you tube video about the end of the world or some secret society trying to kill us all and then basing their whole life and decisions on the subject and taking every word the author said to heart just because he put a phd next to his name.

My opinion is that this thread should be the top ten things that screwed up the world, and I can only guess that all of them will be humans.

Thankyou for noticing and raising this. I'm glad I'm not the only one who is insulted. We could all create threads like this without having to even know what we are writing about. No attempt in at least changing words or adding their own thoughts, views or opinions. Blatent Plagerism! and they get away with it...

Hi Max,

Between 1961 and 1982, The Catcher in the Rye was the most censored book in high schools and libraries in the United States.[28] In 1981 it was both the most censored book and the second most taught book in public schools in the United States.[29] According to the American Library Association, The Catcher in the Rye was the tenth most frequently challenged book from 1990–1999.[10] It was one of the ten most challenged books of 2005[30] and although it had been off the list for three years, it reappeared in the list of most challenged books of 2009.[31] The challenges generally begin with vulgar language[32],[33] with more general reasons including sexual references,[34] blasphemy, undermining of family values[33] and moral codes,[35] Holden's being a poor role model,[36] encouragement of rebellion,[37] and promotion of drinking, smoking, lying, and promiscuity

Well you could try that, but before you do consider how well it worked out for Girolamo Savanarola in 1498.

He went on a book burning binge and when the crowd got tired of it the but him in the fire.

I grew suspicious at the wide selection of books and the almost, dare I say it, glib descriptions given to each book. I considered that maybe OP had gone to a list of "bad books" put out by some critic/censor and chose ten for his own list. I cut him some space there, then I came to your reply.
Bingo says I.

Thanks for finding this in the thread. We may just be taking to our selves here.
Kinda makes one wonder.
Cool avatar, I see Streep in there.
