Why don't you Believe in God?

Oh I believe there could be a god as in a higher force, but to me it's irrelevant. I'm not gonna follow anything other than myself. I don't look up to a source of strength or have faith in it. I am the source of strength and as such I'm gonna invest power in myself and build up my name, not that of god's.

What I see as God is a reason to live. Everywhere I look the world feels empty. God makes himself known in all lives whether you choose to listen or not. There are people who see what is going on around them, and there are people who understand. I didn't say that you are unhappy, I said your souls are unhappy because you have hard hearts. I feel like life is like a movie, and it gets better than this, because this is just a test. Life is eternal, my conscience will not die. The way I have come to know God is the way he communicates, through occurances and coincidences in my life. God has shown me the light because I asked, while others don't dare to. Humans may not want to believe God but whether or not you believe, he is in all of your lives, unlike anything else is. To me it's obvious why you people don't believe, and why I do. God's trying to help you people here, but your not letting him. Even by reading my words he is giving you another chance. I find evidence for God in the hatred of people toward God. I find evidence in the messages of God being the same message that the world should be living by. I'm just trying to help you guys so calm down.

I gave you an honest answer, and was not being a jerk at all.
If this is how your god taught you to talk to people who do not see things the same way as you, then I am glad that I do not listen to it.

my soul is happy as hell. I'm married to a great woman, I'm about to be a dad for the first time, I have a very supportive and loving family. also I love nature and life in general. I don't get how you can impose your beliefs so definitively on people. do you think that by trying to convince people that they are unhappy that they will begin to think like you? would that make you feel better about your beliefs?

God helps me to understand my impatience, and he helps me to work through it. The reply on page 2 sums it up better. I'm sorry I may have called anyone jerks, but that is because of my frustration with people who close there minds and they cannot be opened. I wish to save all of your souls but your hearts are too hard. You come on here as if you are teaching my a lesson, but you are not looking to learn, you are following deceit.

Since you mention some biblical ideologies, I’m assuming you mean the wrathful god YHWH. The one that promises eternal damnation in hell, and then the lake of fire. The one who “told” the Hebrews to wipe out whole cultures, including women, children, and animals. The one who openly calls us sheep. And in whose name millions and millions of people have been slaughtered because they were “heathens”. The one who gave a set of laws that he himself said could not be followed. They were given “that sin may abound”. Oh, but that’s right. God punishes sin, doesn’t he?

The one who tells us to discipline our own children, and raise them in the FEAR of the lord. But who won’t discipline his own creation, known as the devil. But rather lets him run amok on the earth, and then blames us for the evil that is here? Is that the god you’re speaking of that I should believe in? I could go on and on. Been there, done that, my friend. Wasted a lot of years out of my life “fearing” god.

The bible, like so many other religious texts was written to deceive, control, and enslave the masses. It has just enough truth in it to make it easier to swallow the lies that come afterward.

I’m not trying to offend you. I’m all for folks believeing what they choose to believe in. But count me out.

I'm trying to spread the message of love but it is being drowned with the deceit of hatred. I am sorry for my impatience ATS. There many different types of people but only some follow the Truth. This thread turned out more negative and angry than positive which destroys my message, so I cannot help those who don't want to help themselves.

if god made us who made god ?? i can tell u what im made of - no not souls or stuff - just organic compounds..

just because early humans didnt know how volcanoes or cyclones worked they ''believed'' it was some higher force or something .... over thousands of years this belief became a part of everyday thinking ....... because of some fairy tale books dont expect me to be a hindu or christian or whatever ...... there is no god nor will there ever be .... in this vast universe we are but atoms, then why would a ''god'' even care about us ....

if people spent less time and resources waging wars in the name of religion or god then we would have actually advanced in science rather than listening to religious ''jerks'' whine.....

You can't be insubordinate to a creator if it does not exist!

Mike, don't take any of these comments personally. This is ATS. You ask a question, and you're going to get brutally honest answers. I would venture to say there are more unbelievers than believers here. And some of us probably know the bible and it's doctrines better than most christians. In my case, it's because I was one for many years. And I've preached and witnessed too.

Just keep your cool, and your wits about you. And don't let any of us rattle your cage.

The message of love has zero to do with religion...

Some call it god, some call it the big bang... some call it a mechanism, some call it random..


Doesn't matter what you call it, the reality is... what brought this universe into existence, whether it be conscious being or unconscious being.. had an enormous amount of energy and power.


I think every human should be grateful for that power... because without that 'power' you would not be here speaking about it.
