US threat to Falluja reconstruction, page 1

The U.S. dropped leaflets on Falluja telling them that if they do not stop attacks on U.S. troops they will lose 102 million dollars in recrontruction funding.

"If the security situation does not improve, you will lose $102m, which is already allocated and approved. This amount of money will be transferred to peaceful and open towns," the leaflets, which were dropped on Tuesday, said.

"We ask the citizens of Falluja ... to make way for multinational forces to start the rebuilding of Falluja, and to make way for American forces to move freely in the city and make real estimates for construction."

We bring destruction to this city caused by the insurgents and now we are telling these same individuals unless you stop attacking us we won't rebuild that you have caused us to destroy.
No wonder they laugh at us.

we have built and repaired more than we destroyed, we didnt have to rebuild anything, its only right to quit if noone seems to want it, whats your issue here? you wonder why violence continues...., people hold on to what we did instead of what we're doing now trying to fix things.

lingering on the bad only really dont help bring peace.

atleast we arent doing things the way israel would in such a situation(ie: not fixing anything and tearing their houses down for attacking and such).
